Bruce D. Benton, RHU is a 30 year veteran of the employee benefits industry. His career began in 1980 with Equitable Life. Recognizing his passion for employee benefits, Bruce joined West Coast Insurance Marketing; today known as BenefitMall. As a managing producer, Bruce was responsible for the employee benefits and life and annuity divisions including sales, marketing, underwriting, carrier and broker relations. Bruce further developed the corporate accounts division specializing in large group benefit welfare plans, self-funded and national accounts. In 1998, Bruce co-founded Genesis Financial & Insurance Services, an independently owned agency specializing in employee benefits, insurance and financial services for small and large employer groups. His career at this successful agency continues today. Bruce’s involvement in NAHU leadership has been extensive including Los Angeles AHU president, California AHU VP Public Affairs, NAHU Media Relations Chairman, NAHU Region VIII VP, NAHU Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President-Elect. Awards include Pacesetter, Media Relations, Los Angeles AHU Paladin, CAHU Executive Board Member of the Year, and NAHU’s Distinguished Service Award. Bruce is a CAHU-PAC Diamond and HUPAC Double-Diamond contributor. Bruce lives with his wife Barrie in Woodland Hills, California. His son Sgt. Benton (Alex) serves in the U.S. Army and Cpl. Benton (Sarah) the U.S. Marine Corps. Bruce has been active in his community serving on school, little league and synagogue boards. A lifelong musician, Bruce achieved significant education in classical music; however, departed school to sign a recording contract with a major rock & roll label. Bruce still enjoys playing in a local band, municipal sports softball, and is an avid New York Yankees fan.
