Optimist Club of New Ulm Scholarship Application
The Optimist Club of New Ulm Post-Secondary Scholarship is awarded annually to a qualified
candidate. The club started the scholarship fund in 2014 realizing post-secondary education is
expensive and it supports of our mission to bring out the best in kids by helping offset these expenses.





Applications are open to any students who graduated from District 88 (NUHS, NUACS, MVL)
or GFW schools.
Student(s) must be between the ages of 18 and 25 and enrolled full-time (minimum of 12
credits).
Applicant is required to have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.6.
Student must be pursuing a secondary education through an accredited educational institute
Proof of acceptance and / or registration is required before the actual scholarship is awarded.
ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED (address shown below) NO LATER THAN APRIL 15th to be
considered for review in the upcoming school year.
The Scholarship award will be made payable directly to the recipient of the award after proof of
successful completion of the semester, updated graded transcript and GPA is received in the club
office. All scholarships expire 12 months after initial date awarded. Quantity and value of
scholarships may vary depending on the clubs available funds.

An award is made annually from the Optimist Club of New Ulm in furthering the education in
college or a vocational institution. The candidate is required to have at least a 2.6 grade point
average. The award is to be applied to the recipient's educational expenses at a certified postsecondary educational institution.
