175. GAIL HILL AWARD

$25.00 awarded to the club providing the largest financial contribution, in proportion to the membership (amount
of contribution divided by the number of members), to the Scholarship Fund. All contributions must be
channeled through State Headquarters and determined by the State Treasurer’s records.
176. JUDY BARNES SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

$25.00 awarded to the club which has contributed the most money per member to a student/s attending a North
Carolina two or four-year university or college, public or private. The student must be majoring in an area that
meets the mission statement of The Garden Club of North Carolina, Inc. The donation may be given to the
institution itself for scholarship purposes. The winner will be determined by dividing the amount of dollars by the
number of members. A one-page application listing the amount/s, date of the donation/s, and the institution/s
and/or student/s receiving the donation must be submitted. The year of the donation must be the academic year
preceding the submitting of the application for the award. For example: for an award presentation in 2014, the
academic year would be June 1, 2012 to May 31, 2013. (This differs from Award # 175 in that the donations are to
specific institutions or students rather than the GCNC Scholarship Fund.)
