Refurbishment of Horse Guards, Whitehall, London Client Architect Construction Cost Finance Building Management South East Weston Lewis, Clarke and Arnold £12 000 000 Government Financed Project Description Structural repair, refurbishment and redecoration of 7 000 sq. m Horse Guards complex in Whitehall. This prestigious building dates from 1760 and has suffered from differential settlement and gradual deterioration of the stone and timber in the building. The work comprised the complete overhaul of internal materials, cleaning and repair of stonework, windows and doors, improvement of drainage and complete renewal of services; structural repairs, floor strengthening and floor reconstruction. Services Provided Carried out structural survey under separate earlier contract. Provided full structural engineering services throughout all stages of the project.
