DES Information
Community Service. We collected over 4000
items for Neighbors in Need and
over $2500 for Christmas for Kids.
Bravo to all involved!
Join us on January 13th from 1-7pm
for our first Blood Drive. Our goal is to have 100
donors!
AM Drop-Off. We would like to thank those of
you who are using the drop off curb lane or
parking your cars in the morning. We understand
your frustration when cars that just drop off in the
middle of the parking lot block you in so you can’t
leave. Please assist us in spreading the word about
the two safe ways to drop off children in the
morning.
Breakfast. We are going to attempt to have a hot
breakfast available to the students on January 6th.
The menu will include: pancakes, sausage, orange
juice and milk. As always the cost of the meal is
$1.50 per student.
Home Connect. We are using a computer
software program called Accelerated Reading
(AR) at school. This program has a special feature
called Home Connect. It is an easy-to-use webbased interface that allows you to share in the
educational experience by viewing your child’s
AR progress.

 Ask your child for his/her login and password. If
you need assistance with this, your child’s teacher
can help.

K – 2 Information
Outside Recess: Just a reminder to parents that
our students go outside for recess if the
temperature is above 20 degrees (regular or wind
chill). Please dress your child appropriately for
the winter weather we are having. Boots are also
encouraged when snow arrives. If your child
wears boots to school, please send an extra pair of
shoes for the classroom.
3 – 5 Information
Cold Weather. Please remind your child to dress
appropriately for the winter weather. Coats, hats,
and gloves are a necessity.
Updated information. We need your help when
you have a change of address or a phone number.
Please contact the school as soon as possible when
you have a change occur.
Classroom parties. We would like to thank all of
the parent volunteers that provided items for our
classroom parties. The kids do appreciate all your
efforts!
