Pronunciation Review Board Game Rules For each group of 3-5 players, you’ll need: A game board A die A marker for each player A set of question cards (Cut apart the questions on the following pages.) Rules: The first player throws the die and moves his/her marker that number of spaces. The player picks up a question card and answers the question or does what the card says. If he/she can do it successfully (as judged by the other players, with the teacher as referee), he/she can stay on that space. If not, he/she must move back to his/her previous space. Some cards say “Challenge.” These are extra difficult questions or tongue twisters. If a player can successfully answer a “Challenge” question, he/she may take another turn. Some cards say “Revenge.” If a player gets a “Revenge” card, he/she chooses another player to do what the card says. If the other player fails to answer correctly, that player must move back a space. If he/she answers correctly, he/she stays where he/she is. In either case, the player whose turn it is does not have to move back. Some cards say “Share.” These ask the player to give an opinion or tell about an experience. Any answer is acceptable for a “Share” card. No one ever has to move back. Players take turns in this way until everyone reaches “Finish.” The first player to reach “Finish” is the winner. How many syllables are there in “watched”? How many syllables are there in “sneezes”?
