Spelling Contract Word Study Choice Grid ABC order Write all your spelling words in correct alphabetical order. Acrostic Write your words vertically; then write adjectives for each letter in the word. Complete for fifteen words. Magazine Pictures Cut out pictures to illustrate at least 15 of your spelling words. Glue them onto a piece of paper. Parts of Speech Group all your words in their appropriate part of speech. Use a dictionary if you need help. Technology Words Type your word list. Each word must be in a different font or color. Spelling Pyramids Choose 10 spelling words and make word pyramids. d do dog Definitions Write definitions for 15 words. Use the dictionary or write your definition of the word. Rainbow Words Write each word in 3 colors, one over another. Synonyms and Antonyms Write your words and then write both of the above for each word. Syllable Spelling Clap your words in syllables, then separate according to the syllables. con-tract Comic Strip Sentences Short Story Write a short story using most of your words. Be sure to circle the words and spell them correctly. Illustrations Word Search Make and complete a word search puzzle or crossword puzzle at www,puzzlemaker.com Write one sentence for 15 words on the list. Be sure to underline the words and spell them correctly. Color Code Write all your words using one color for the vowels and another color for the consonants. Big Word=Little word Choose 10 spelling words. For each word, write down all the words you can find inside the word. For example: Language: age, gag, etc. Spelling Riddles Make up a “What am I?” or “Who am I?” riddle for at least 7 words. Have at least 3 clues for each word. Draw a picture that shows the meaning of ten words. Be sure to write the word with the picture. Draw a separate picture for each of the ten words. You must include at least 10 words Weekly Spelling Contract Pick 5 squares. Put an X on the squares you complete each week. Spelling Contracts are due every FRIDAY and no later!
