Together Communications is looking for an Account Manager
The Company
Together Communications (www.togethercomms.co.uk) celebrates its 25th
birthday in 2013. An advertising and design agency with strengths in recruitment
and employee communications, the company works with a wide variety of clients
across the commercial, charity and social care sectors.
Headed up by Colin Barnett since 2002, the company has traded independently
until October 2011, when it became part of Retail Human Resources plc
(www.rhr.co.uk) the UK’s largest and most successful independent retail
recruitment consultancy. Together has taken over as RHR’s internal advertising
and design agency whilst continuing to develop its own external client business.
The agency is based at The Old Free School in the middle of Watford.
The Account Manager
After seven years’ excellent service, our current Account Manager is leaving to
take up an exciting client-side international recruitment role. Her replacement will
enjoy a wide-ranging client facing role encompassing operational service
delivery and more strategic client development.
Working alongside a part-time Media Adviser and a design/creative/copywriting
studio team of two, the role provides a knowledgeable, proactive and timely
service to clients’ recruitment communications needs, focusing on some key
areas:
Client management
 To understand each client’s individual culture, structure, needs and
requirements in order to deliver a service that exceeds their expectations
 To build a rapport on the telephone with each client to drive greater
understanding, influence and our scope of services
 Regularly review the services provided to gauge effectiveness, client
satisfaction and future resource planning
 To be aware of other design work being undertaken by Together with each
client and regularly discuss the whole client relationship with the studio
Media
 To undertake thorough media research in order to give the clients the best
options and consult with them to ensure the right media choices are made
 Develop regular contact with media representatives and media houses,
and grow a comprehensive knowledge of media options (particularly
online) that makes us the first point of contact for help and advice
 To inform clients of the latest media developments where appropriate
Advertising process
 Through correct use of the Adnet media booking system, process all
advertising requests (70-90 each month) in a timely and accurate way
 Work closely with the studio on press ad production (10-20 each month)
 Ensure that the quality checks for both online and press ads take place at
every stage, including copywriting and checking, proof reading, brand
guidelines, response details, sizing, artwork layout and style, media
requirements, and online search criteria
 Effective time management of clients, media contacts and studio
colleagues
 To provide our finance and accounting team with effective invoicing
information and respond to all invoice enquiries promptly
A summary of the role; its challenges and development opportunities
The new Account Manager will inherit an established and loyal client base plus
regular new clients as our networking and business development activity
continues to bring success, plus the potential connections in retail, hospitality
and leisure that the RHR client base provides.
They will also inherit a tried and tested system for advertising processes and an
enviable level of quality service delivery in everything we do. The Together team
is well established with long service and we have expert resources in all areas to
draw upon as part of RHR.
The challenge of the role is to continue to handle the day-to-day aspects of the
role quickly and efficiently, thereby maximising the time available to develop the
current client relationships to best commercial effect.
The recession, coupled with the changing face of the recruitment advertising
industry means our clients spend less with us than they used to, and have more
opportunities than ever before to engage with the talent they are looking for. The
Account Manager needs to constantly reinforce our strengths, influence and
services to each client as well as keep up to date with each client’s recruitment
and employment needs, so that we can identify and follow up on all available
opportunities to deliver solutions.
The role reports in to Colin Barnett and would suit an established Account
Executive / Manager with success in client management and development who
is looking to manage the basics well but would relish the chance to play a more
influential role in client development. The role is based in Watford but plenty of
client meetings will be expected as part of the relationship building. The salary
on offer will be commensurate with experience.
If you’re interested in a confidential discussion about this role, then contact Colin
Barnett on 07984 149932 or email him on colin@togethercomms.co.uk
