Luminaire disconnects shall be available in two construction styles: prewired or push-in. 1. Prewired 2 pole luminaire disconnects shall be LD2-D (500 pc bulk pack) or LD2 (2 pc bag). 2. Prewired 3 pole luminaire disconnects shall be LD3-D (500 pc bulk pack) or LD3 (2 pc bag). 3. Push-in 2 pole luminaire disconnects shall be LD2P-D (500 pc bulk pack) or LD2P-Q (25 pc bag). B. Luminaire disconnects shall be rated 4A, 600V, 105ºC maximum. C. Luminaire disconnects plastic housings shall be molded from polycarbonate material. D. Luminaire disconnects housing shall be colored safety orange. E. Prewired contacts shall be 0.250 female and male disconnects made from copper alloy with a tin plated finish. F. Prewired contacts shall be wired with insulated 18 AWG UL1316 solid white wire lead for neutral and black wire lead for hot. G. Prewired luminaire disconnects shall be available in 2 pole and 3 pole versions. H. Prewired luminaire disconnects leads shall accept aluminum or copper wire of any size. I. Push-in contacts shall be made from copper alloy. J. Push-in contacts shall accept 18 AWG to 12 AWG solid copper and 14 AWG to 12 AWG stranded (19 strands or less) copper wire. K. Push-in luminaire disconnects shall be available in a 2 pole version. L. Luminaire disconnects shall have a latch to prevent accidental disconnects. Prewired luminaire disconnects shall be finger safe on the female side or line side. N. Push-in luminaire disconnects shall be finger safe on both the line and load side. O. Luminaire disconnects load and line sides shall be designed to mate in the correct orientation only. P. Push-in luminaire disconnects shall have the hot lead wire entry on the male side or load side marked black for proper wiring order. Q. Prewired luminaire disconnects shall be marked with the T&B logo, UL and CSA logos, LINE, LOAD and base catalog number LD2. R. Push-in luminaire disconnects shall be marked with the T&B logo, UL and CSA logos, Sta-Kon®, 4A, 600V, and base catalog number LD2P. PART 3 – EXECUTION 3.1 INSTALLATION A. Installation shall be in accordance to the NEC and CEC requirements and manufacturer’s instructions. 1. Luminaire disconnect shall comply with NEC Section 410.130(G)(1) and CEC Section 30308(4).
