Format for Resolutions for Listing on Pennsylvania Rivers Registry
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS (name of Municipality)

SUPPORTING THE (name of Plan) AND LISTING THE (name of river, river
segments or watershed) ON THE PENNSYLVANIA RIVERS REGISTRY;
WHEREAS, the (name of municipal officials) recognize the importance of
conserving the importance of conserving the ((name of) (Watershed and its tributaries or
river corridor)) to foster the quality of life in (name of municipality); and
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of
Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation (PA DCNR),
has established a "Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Registry"; and
WHEREAS, (name of organization authoring the Plan) has completed a
(name of Plan) for the (name of river, river segments or watershed), which contains a
number of conservation recommendations suitable for implementation, development or
acquisition in (name of municipality) and throughout (the entire (name of Watershed) and
its tributaries) or (along the (name of the river corridor or river corridor segments) studied
in the Plan); and
WHEREAS, the (name of the Plan) has been reviewed and found acceptable
by the (name of municipal officials); and
WHEREAS, (name of municipality) does endorse the (name of the Plan),
and will endeavor to take appropriate action to implement its recommendations.
NOW, THEREFORE, the (name of municipal officials) requests that rivers,
river segments, watershed or tributaries defined above be listed on the Pennsylvania
Rivers Conservation Registry.
