Toshiba projector ET1 –
Design gem based on new
home cinema concept

Toshiba’s Professional Visual Products division presents
its new entertainment projector ET1, an extraordinary
design gem based on a new Toshiba home cinema concept.
Its round, flat shape which resembles a miniature UFO
rather than a classic projector turns the ET1 into a
striking and unique home cinema device in terms of
design. This latest Toshiba model, however, is not only
characterized by its leading-edge design, but also
includes a multitude of home cinema functions.
ET1 – Startup model with new home cinema concept
Apart from its modern, futuristic look, this startup
model also features quite a few functions for great home
cinema enjoyment. The Faroudja DCDi™ video scaler, which
was integrated into the LCD projector, provides an
excellent image quality. The video scaler doubles the
number of image lines displayed in interlaced video,
thus making the image appear considerably sharper.
Sports and action film fans can now enjoy quick moving
images that appear even more realistic and flicker-free.
The three different video modes “Standard“, “Movie“ and
“Game“ ensure optimum display of images.

High-performance 5 W loudspeakers were integrated for
enhanced sound quality. In addition, the user can choose
between the audio modes “Normal Stereo“ and “Surround“.
With its integrated silent fan (28 dB), the Toshiba
projector, in its white home cinema housing, is a real
silent companion of home cinema fans.
The possibility to change the projector brightness from
“Normal“ to “Eco“ mode protects the lamp and increases
lamp durability. Offering real 16:9 cinema format
presentation, a contrast ratio of 800:1 and a
convincingly favorable price of EUR 1,290 (recommended
price excluding VAT), the ET1 can be considered a
projector that meets the demands on real home cinema
enjoyment.

Toshiba ET1 – User-friendly Plug & Play features
The Toshiba device recognizes different connected
devices, such as DVD players, digital cameras, play
consoles, TVs or video cameras automatically, thus
ensuring maximum ease of use even for beginners. The
universal SCART input ensures flexible connection of
devices.
Moreover, the user can use the remote control to switch
between the conventional 4:3 television and 16:9 big
screen format to select the desired image size.
Thanks to the wide angle lens that ensures throw
distances of only 0.75 meters, presentations in almost
any small room become possible. In other words, the user
can set up the new Toshiba projector in almost any
location.

The ET1 uses the keystone correction feature to
automatically readjust tilted images thrown on walls or
distorted images by press of a key.
The Toshiba device processes all conventional video
signals, such as NTSC, PAL and SECAM and can be
connected to a PC or Macintosh Computer.
Availability, price
The Toshiba ET1 will be available as of October from
distributors, specialized traders and retailers at a
price of Euro 1,290 (recommended price excl. VAT).
