Walter C
Born in Boston Spa, West Riding, Yorkshire, a son
of Thomas Scatcherd and Esther Carter. He
married Ada K Donne in 1898 in Faversham,
Kent, UK. They immigrated to Armstrong, B.C.
Canada in 1907. Two years later they moved to
Chase, BC. Walter was a pioneer doctor and
served the surrounding area including (as a
government medical officer) about 12 Indian
Reserves. He was held in such high regard that
Mt. Chase was renamed Mt. Scatchard in 1961.
He is buried in the mountain.
She had 5 sons and 1 daughter. All immigrated to
Canada except for Charles.
Was an auto mechanic who served in the Militia
for a while.
