experimental work. A workshop on the technical action had been held at the
conference two days prior to the meeting. This workshop had an attendance of sixty
and the discussion caused it to over-run its allotted time by almost one hour.
Action.
Prof Catrysse to continue the joint technical action.
Prof Catrysse to prepare a report on the Zurich workshop.
01.08 New Joint Technical Actions
After some discussion a number of options for computational joint technical actions
were identified. These are to be further discussed at the next MCM. Prof Catrysse
described further experiments needed to complete the current joint technical action.
Action.
Prof Catrysse to send round next set of cables for measurement. These will have
shield holes.
Prof Catrysse to send round 0.5m lengths of cable for participants to terminate.
Prof Corona to devise probabilistic computational problem
Prof A van Deursen to devise a high power LF computational problem
Prof Marvin to devise a mobile telecommunications computational problem.
The problems are to be sent to Prof Marvin by 18 may 2001.
01.09 National COST 261 Actions

01.11 Planning of the Next MCM
Ms S Baranowski presented the outline arrangements for the next MCM and
Workshop. These are to be held at the University of Lille on 11/12 June 2001. The
Workshop title is "EMC measurement Techniques for Complex and distributed
Systems". The following schedule applies for setting up the workshop;
1/5/01
4/5/01
28/5/01
Submission of abstracts
Abstracts to be scrutinised by Profs Catrysse & Marvin
Letters of acceptance
Papers to Lille
Details of the workshop are at meetingcost@univ-lille1.fr
01.12 Future Workshops & Meetings
The possibility of holding a MCM at the SoftCOMPLUS conference on the Marco
Polo ship on 10/13 Oct 2001 was discussed. It was agreed that this was not easy to
arrange although attendance is encouraged. See www.softcom.tel.hr
The next MCM after Lille will be held in Eindhoven at the end of November 2001.
An associated workshop on the remaining joint technical actions will be held. The
local organiser will be Prof van Deursen.
The final MCM will be held in Budapest in May 2002. The local organiser will be
Prof Varju. An associated workshop on Protection in Complex and Distributed
Systems will be organised.
01.13 Future COST EMC Actions
Discussion on possible future COST EMC Actions was held. The consensus was that
an Action in the area of EMC in Diffused Telecommunications Systems would be
appropriate.
Action.
Prof Corona to collate ideas from the members for discussion at the Lille MCM.
