SHAPE – BSG CENTRAL PROCESSING BRANCH Motor Vehicle Inspection (Contrôle Technique – CT) WHAT NEEDS TO PASS THE CT AND WHEN? Annually all SHAPE registered vehicles more than four (4) years old and: 1. Any vehicle equiped with LPG before its first registration in Belgium and then every year thereafter 2. Light vans, pick-ups must pass CT every year regardless the age of the vehicle 3. Every vehicle equipped with a towing package – a tow bar or a tow ball or other device – must pass CT before it is registered in Belgium. If this vehicle is going to tow load more than 750 Kg, it is required to pass the CT each year 4. Every Trailer or Caravan that has a gross weight more than 750 Kg (Gross Weight means the weight of the trailer or caravan PLUS the load it is carrying) must pass CT after its first registration in Belgium and then every two years. Therefore, please check your vehicle registration document validity and report at least 3 weeks in advance to the Family Support and Central Processing Branch – Registration Section (FSCP RGN) for renewal (this especially concerns “blue plate holders” as they have to obtain the new red plate – 8 ABC 123). After these dates, additional fees will be applied. WHERE DO I HAVE TO PRESENT THE VEHICLE? You may visit the vehicle inspection station of your choice. Business hours: From Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 17:00 (minimum-waiting time between 07:00 and 09:00). Last vehicle inspected 30 minutes before closing. We suggest you to check the opening hours of the station you plan to visit. Payment by cash or debit card (only Belgian cards) accepted. WILMET & WILMART Route Provinciale 48 bis 7340 – WASMES Or one of these found on the link last sentence “Installateurs LPG agrees”: http://www.goca.be/fr/p/ct-vp-controle-lpg IMPORTANT INFORMATION Your vehicle should be prepared for inspection as following: Empty and clean inside – Tires inflated up to NORMAL pressure – The chassis number and identification plate must be legible – 4-wheel drive: notify the inspector for the brake test – No tires with snow chains or studs; Engine maintenance in compliance with manufacturer’s standards – Adequate oil level; Engine at the proper temperature for environmental testing. Documents to bring to the inspection: The vehicle registration certificate (Certificat d’immatriculation – Kentekenbewijs); Certificate of compliance (if in your possession); Most recent inspection certificate (if this is not the first inspection). If you no longer use your vehicle, do not forget to notify the Central Processing Branch – Registration Section.
