By initialling each point listed hereunder, I indicate that I have read and agree to the following terms:
1. I have obtained and read a copy of the policy on the use of Third Party Laptops on
the Institutes Computer Network (3IT19) and understand and agree to same.
2. I have read and agree to the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown’s Acceptable
Usage Policy (3IT13) for computer use.
3. I agree not to attempt to connect a laptop to the Institute of Technology
Blanchardstown’s wireless network without ensuring that all software licenses are
valid and appropriate.
4. I agree to update virus definitions at intervals of sixty days or less.
5. I realise that data stored on the laptop, once connected to the Institute network
whether previous or current, is subject to Freedom of Information and Data
Protection legislation and I may be required to produce if required.
6. I agree to use the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown’s wireless access
facility for legitimate academic and institutional purposes only.
7. I realise that misuse of the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown’s wireless
access facility is a grave offence which may result in the initiation of disciplinary
procedures.
IMPORTANT:
COMPUTER SERVICES DO NOT PROVIDE TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO STUDENTS PERSONAL
EQUIPMENT.
FULL INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDING VIDEO PRESENTATIONS ARE AVAILABLE ON THE STUDENT
INTRANET.

Note 1: To obtain the MAC address, Click – “Start” – “Run” – type in “CMD” and click “OK”. In the
dialog box that opens type in “IPCONFIG /ALL”. For the wireless connection, look for the “Physical
Address” e.g. 00-14-22-47-56-33 which is the same as the MAC address. Alternatively for Windows 7
installations you can use getmac /v to obtain the MAC address
