Duties and Responsibilities of the Staff of C.D.O.:

CHIEF ENGINEER:

Accords approval for all the Designs and Drawings of all the Projects across

A.P. based on the data received from the investigation and field engineers.

Inspects the Dams at regular intervals for assessing the health of Dams and suggests the remedial measures when necessary.

Participates in the final approval of Draft Codes of Bureau of Indian Standards

(B.I.S.) and interacts with Central Water Commission (C.W.C.) on various aspects pertaining to the Projects of A.P.

Participates in the finalization of some policy matters in the Board of Chief

Engineers’ Meetings.

Advises the Government of A.P. on several key technical matters pertaining to the Projects of A.P. in the individual capacity representing C.D.O. as well as a part of the Technical Committees formulated by the Govt.

SUPERINTENDING ENGINEER (DAMS):

 Recommends the Designs and Drawings of Earth dams, Spillways, Lift

Schemes pertaining to various Irrigation Projects and related Components for the approval of the Chief Engineer.

Interacts with the investigation and field engineers for the procurement of missing link data required for the preparation of Designs and Drawings and coordinates the field visits by the Design Engineers whenever required.

 Acts as ‘Officer’ to receive applications for information or appeals sent by

State Assistant Public Information Officer to dispose within the time frame in accordance with the relevant sections of the Right to Information Act, 2005.

SUPERINTENDING ENGINEER (BARRAGES AND CANALS):

Recommends the Designs and Drawings of Canals and Canal Structures (C.M.

& C.D. Works), Hydraulic Particulars pertaining to various Irrigation Projects for the approval of the Chief Engineer.

Interacts with the investigation and field engineers for the procurement of missing link data required for the preparation of Designs and Drawings and coordinates the field visits by the Design Engineers whenever required.

SUPERINTENDING ENGINEER (Designs Circle):

Recommends the Designs and Drawings of Canals and Canal Structures (C.M.

& C.D. Works), Hydraulic Particulars pertaining to various Irrigation Projects and the Designs of Mechanical Components such as Gates, embedded parts etc. for the approval of the Chief Engineer.

SUPERINTENDING ENGINEER (S.D.S.O.):

Coordinates the inspections the Dams at regular intervals by the team of experts for assessing the health of Dams in the state and obtain the suggestions with respect to the necessary remedial measures.

SUPERINTENDING ENGINEER (Q.C.):

Checks and controls the Quality of all the works which are being executed in the Telangana region of the state of A.P. by making regular field visits and reports to the Chief Engineer.

DEPUTY CHIEF ENGINEER (Admn.):

Looks after the overall administration of the Organisation including the issue of Designs and Drawings as well as the service matters of all the employees of the Organisation for the assistance of the Chief Engineer.

Acts as ‘State Public Information Officer’ to provide information within the time limit specified in accordance with the relevant sections of the Right to

Information Act, 2005.

EXECUTIVE ENGINEERS:

Submits the Designs and Drawings of relevant components pertaining to various Irrigation Projects to the concerned Superintending Engineer after examination and critical review of all the possible alternatives.

DEPUTY EXECUTIVE ENGINEER(Admn.):

 Assists the Deputy Chief Engineer (Admn.) in the overall administration of the Organisation and makes schedule and arrange for the Review Meetings.

 Acts as the ‘State Assistant Public Information Officer’ to receive applications for information or appeals to forward the same forthwith either to the State

Public Information Officer or to the Officer who is senior to the State Public

Information Officer in accordance with the relevant sections of the Right to

Information Act, 2005.

DEPUTY EXECUTIVE ENGINEERS:

Checks all the technical aspects of the Designs and Drawings of relevant components pertaining to various Irrigation Projects and transmits to the concerned Executive Engineer for further process.

ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE ENGINEERS/ ASSISTANT ENGINEERS:

Prepares the Designs and Drawings of relevant components pertaining to various Irrigation Projects after a critical study of the Site Surveys furnished by the investigation and field engineers.

ASSISTANT TECHNICAL OFFICERS/ JUNIOR TECHNICAL OFFICERS

(DRAUGHTTSMAN):

Assist the Assistant Executive Engineers/ Assistant Engineers in the preparation of the Designs and Drawings.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANTS (TRACER):

Trace the Drawings and preserve the same.

NON TECHNICAL PERSONAL ASSISTANT (N.T.P.A):

Assist the Deputy Chief Engineer (Admn.) in day to day administration and also in charge of preparation of Salary and Supplementary Bills.

SUPERINTENDENTS:

 Supervise the work of the Section pertaining to Administration and / or Bills.

SENIOR ASSISTANTS:

Deals with the Service matters of the staff of the Organisation in respect of salaries, increments, leaves etc. and other correspondence.

JUNIOR ASSISTANTS:

Deals with the Service matters of the staff of the Organisation in respect of salaries, increments, leaves etc. and other correspondence.

TYPISTS:

Type the approved drafts and feed all the data into the computers.

BLUE PRINT OPERATERS (B.P.O.):

Takes the ammonia prints of the Drawings on tracing paper/ cloth.

ATTENDERS:

Attend the duties under the control of officers.

WATCHMEN:

Watch the T & P of the entire Office for the entire duration of the day.

SWEEPERS:

Sweep the office premises and keep the same clean.
