All proceeds from KICKIN’ CANCER! will be used to support the
Lynne Cohen Preventive Care Programs for Women’s Cancers. The Los
Angeles recipient is the Lynne Cohen Preventive Care Clinic for Women’s
Cancers at USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Established in 1998, the Lynne Cohen Foundation is dedicated to the life,
character and strength of its namesake, who died of ovarian cancer. Although Lynne Cohen
didn’t carry a genetic mutation, she was concerned her three daughters might be at risk. Since
then, through preventative care programs at major cancer centers throughout the country, the
Foundation created by Cohen’s daughters focuses on the emerging role of screening and
prevention in women’s cancers.
KICKIN’ CANCER! is an event for the entire family to enjoy while heightening awareness of
women’s healthcare issues and raising funds for the early detection and prevention of women’s
cancers.

Dear (Name):
On September 10, 2006, approximately 3,000 women, men and children will participate in the 5th annual
KICKIN’ CANCER! 5K Walk/Run to raise funds and awareness for the early detection and prevention of
women’s cancers.
I will be participating in the 5K Walk/Run and my personal fundraising goal is $_______. I would appreciate
any support you are able to give me for this worthwhile cause.
Ovarian cancer is the deadliest gynecologic cancer, striking 24,000 women annually in the United States and
killing approximately 14,000. Invasive breast cancer strikes 212,000 women annually in the United States and
kills approximately 40,000. Ovarian and breast cancer are curable diseases when found in the early stages. I
believe that my work with the Lynne Cohen Foundation is important and well worth the effort. I am particularly
proud of the fact that the Foundation has raised close to $6 million to support preventive care programs and
research since 1998.
I hope you will consider sponsoring my participation in KICKIN’ CANCER! Any amount will help change the
destructive path of ovarian and breast cancer for generations of women to come. Checks should be made
payable to KICKIN’ CANCER! Please include my name in the memo line of your check. Donations are tax
deductible as provided by law. Donations can also be made online at www.kickincancer.com [or, include
personal fundraising web page address, if you have one].
Thank you for considering this request for support. If you have any questions about the Lynne Cohen
Foundation programs, please visit www.lynnecohenfoundation.org. Or, to register yourself for the KICKIN’
CANCER! 5K Walk/Run, visit www.kickincancer.com.
Sincerely,
