Charles Reiher
Charlie uses acrylic, ink, and collage to paint abstract places or scapes: land, city, sea, undersea, sky,
galaxy, and microscapes (scenes that might appear under a microscope) on a variety of natural and synthetic
papers and on canvas. Much of his work uses the flow of ink and paint on superwet papers and the differing
spreading characteristics of papers collaged onto the works before painting. His work is organic, full of motion
and flow, and emphasizes color, line and texture.
