Chichester Historical Society Secretary’s Report 8/10/10 Present: Dick Pratt, President Bernie Reinhardt, Vice President Fred Shaw, Secretary Elizabeth Collins, Treasurer Lucille Noel Gail Towle Ruth Hammen Walter Sanborn Dick Millette Barbara Frangione, Curator Abby Sanborn Septic: It appears that the septic does not need pumping on a yearly basis. Ruth will call and inform them not to pump this year. OHD: The caption for the float will be “Wicked Old Hallowe’en” and Dick P will make a 20” x 40” poster for the float. Boy Scout Materials: The Boy Scouts have stored materials in the upstairs storage room for several years and are no longer meeting at the Community Building. Barb Frangione has obtained permission from the selectmen to store the materials in the attic of the Grange Hall. Ruth will call Bob Shaw, Cub Scout leader, to evaluate these things and provide help in moving them to the Grange Hall. Old Mills: Lucille has found, through the Preservation Alliance, Northern Heritage Mills, an organization in Acworth, NH, that specializes in the history of old mills. Gerald DeMuro is the director. The Society will consider contacting him for help with the history of the mill at Thunder Bridge. Commode: The cryptic stamp on the bottom of the commode donated by Barb Frangione was labeled “IPCo”. Gail did some research and discovered these are the initials for the International Pottery Company located in Trenton, NJ.
