SPECIALTY
PRE-SCHOOL PEDAGOGY AND A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
The preparation of students - future teachers in children's program „Pre-School Pedagogy and
a Foreign Language” is read on mastering the material, and almost hierarchical interrelated
fields of scientific knowledge having a particular purpose and content and pedagogical
insights of science education, education and socialization preschool children.
Studies last for 4 years (8 semesters). The curriculum has a total workload hours and 2490 a
total of 240 ECTS credits allocated equally to each of the eight semesters in accordance with
state requirements. Provides specialty training and equipping children's teachers following
professional competencies:

Tertiary education in „Preschool Education and Foreign Language” by degree „Bachelor” and
qualification „Teacher, teacher, and children's children a foreign language teacher” is the
underlying component of professional development in children of the United childcare
kindergarten, kindergarten, medical kindergartens, homes for the orphaned children up to 6
years, kindergarten, medical kindergartens, homes for the orphaned children up to 6 years,
institutions for children with special educational needs in nurseries in the family as domestic
workers and foreign language teachers of children up to six years in centers and schools and
language teachers.

Annotation: The course introduces the students to the basic methodological role
which philosophy plays in the development of pedagogical science as a whole. The
main accent of the course is on the plurality of theses regarding the essence of
human nature and the possibilities for pedagogical influence on it developed by the
different philosophical schools.
The forming of human personality is analyzed from a sociological, theological, psychological
and pedagogical point of view and with regard to the cultural and anthropological concepts in
both historical and modern aspect. A number of theories and pedagogical innovations and
their modernization are discussed. The course broadens the horizons of the students, allows
the improvement of their philosophical outlook on life and assists in their future professional
realization.
Content of the course:
The course consists of a lecture course and seminars. The topics are conceptually centered and
have mainly theoretical character. The philosophical discussion on educational problems is
based on speculative thinking and development of dialectic knowledge. The seminars are to
complete and further develop the lectures mainly by the assignment of a number of task to be
independently completed by the students.
Teaching Technology:
The course is based mainly on lectures. The content is interactively presented. Certain topics
are to be discussed by students during the course. The presented information is richly
illustrated by real-life example and cases. A certain part of the content covered by the course
is to be acquired by the students in the process of independent work with sources of scientific
information and literature.

The present curriculum conditionally can be divided into four parts. In the first part are
included introductory questions. Their content is connected with the subject of the general
psychology, the development of the psyche, with the research methods.
In the second part are included topics, which reflect the specificity of the cognitive,
emotional, volitional processes. These processes are presented in their interconnection and
conditioning of other mental processes. The third part of the program is connected with the
problems associated with the personality. There are included topics which allow gaining
knowledge about the structure of the personality as well as about its individual characteristics.
When constructing these three parts of the programme accounts the need for consideration the
problems of the mental processes, properties, states, but from different scientific positions.
This gives the opportunity to form wider comprehension about the mental phenomenon.
The forth part of the programme is connected with the problems of the developmental
psychology. It is considered issues, related to the periodization of child development: factors
for the formation of the psyche, the specificity of cognitive, emotional, volitional processes in
different age periods: to features of the dynamics of personality development.

Annotation: The history of pedagogy plays a significant role in the professional qualification
of the future pedagogues. As a part of their fundamental training, it helps the forming of an
objective attitude towards the educational legacy and assists in the consideration and practical
application of the abiding pedagogical ideas.
Educational content: School practices and pedagogical theories from ancient to present time.
Authentic pedagogical ideas and theories of the classicist of the pedagogical thought: Jan
Amos Komensky, Jean Jacque Russo, Johan H. Pestaloci, Adolf Diesterweg, Johann F.
Herbart, K.D. Ushinsky, L.N. Tolstoy. etc.
Technology of training: Lectures and Seminars reflect the main stages of the European
pedagogical thought. Carry out control works, decide to case studies, practical tasks, are
conducted group discussions. Formation of the final evaluation is described in the program.

Annotation:
The course introduces to students the two parts of the basic course in Education - Introduction
to Pedagogy and Theory of Education. The first part topics focus on issues related to the
scientific status of pedagogy , its position in the system of sciences, links and relations with
other social sciences, the specific conceptual and terminological system, its main functions
and tasks. The topics in the second part /theory of education/ are redefined by new
methodological views for the modern educational problems. They study the nature and main
characteristics of the educational process, the principles, means and methods of personal
development in education, the main tendencies in the educational content. An important task
of the course is to improve future teachers’ ability to comprehensively analyze specific
teaching situations and to find appropriate solutions for their creative work. This will facilitate
the process of their future adaptation in the field of educational subjects.
Course content: Education as a science - subject, object, functions, tasks, system of terms
and notions. Development of Pedagogy. Personal development as a pedagogical problem.
Social nature of education. Educational goals. Scientific status of the theory and methodology
of education . Specifics, structure and content of the educational process. Principles, methods,
means and forms of education and self-education. Scientific understanding and philosophy.
Mental education. Moral education and development. Patriotic education. Aesthetic education
and development. Physical, health and sexual education. Labour and education. Key factors
for the education of the individual. Teacher’s education and personality. Extracurricular
activities in education.
Course organization, evaluation and assessment: The course comprises of lectures and
seminars involving and encouraging students discussions on different parts of the content.
Power Point presentations are used to present the course topics. Certain time is given at the
end of each lecture for further questions and summary. For some topics students prepare their
own thesis or reports based on different sources. A wide range of practical examples are also
part of the study. During the lectures students are given regular assessment tests. The
seminars are orientated towards the skills development and the transfer of the acquired theory
into practice. The specifics of the course require a wide variety of teaching and assessment
methods.

Annotation:
The General English course focuses on accuracy and fluency with an integrated skills and
strategy-based curriculum that aims at developing the four language skills—listening,
speaking, reading, and writing. The course also focuses on improving pronunciation and
increasing vocabulary. Participants are placed in one of the following stages based on their
placement test results: beginner, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, and preadvanced. To ensure consistency of instruction, one series is used for each stage.

Course content: The training focuses on a variety of everyday essential topics to ultimately
improve participant fluency, accuracy and ability to communicate. It gives the students some
extra practice they need to become fluent. The main idea is to focus on the students' ability to
express themselves in everyday situations. Therefore, students work on pronunciation,
vocabulary and idioms (in the advanced level) to further develop their conversational skills.
They also receive individualized feedback on grammar and pronunciation errors. Class
activities include: group discussions, role plays, pronunciation, and games.
Evaluation and assessment: Final evaluation includes:
- Attendance.
- Written and oral presentation of an own design project.
- All self-study assignments submitted.
- Final written test (min. 66% correct).
- Oral exam.

Annotation:
The aim of the course is for students to reflect on and master didactical issues in the
mainstream (didactic propedeutics, teleonomichna didactics, didactics and ontodidaktika
object, subjective didactics, didactics legal, technological didactics dotsimologiya) from the
positions of the new pedagogical thinking and current educational trends.
Content of the course:
The course is one of the fundamental to obtain a teaching qualification. The course covers key
didactical problems: scientific status of didactics, learning process, functions and taxonomies
of learning, growing and nurturing nature of training, training content, training principles,
training methods, methods for testing and evaluation, methods for heuristic thinking,
organizational learning systems, forms of training approaches to improve learning,
programmed instruction, problems in training, automation of training, independent work of
students, working with not well succeeding and gifted students.

Anotation:
The course introduces to students complex concepts and phenomena from both areas education theories and sociology. It aims at developing students’ knowledge about the main
problem fields of pedagogical sociology, their origin and impact on decision making in the
educational process at school and other educational institutions. On the other side during the
study students develop skills to identify and analyze the social and
pedagogical phenomena and processes in order to complete successfully educational goals
taking in consideration all the social factors and conditions that affect education.
Course content: Specifics of pedagogical sociology. Education as component and structure
of society. School as educational institution. Socialization of youth. Factors of socialization.
The class as a social and educational community. Micro-sociology of the class. Teacher’s
profession. Teacher in the profession. Educational interactions. Interactions between teachers
and students. Social integration of youth. Social control, deviant and delinquent behaviour.

Anotation: The course is addressed to students from the vocational education who start
studying the problems of the common view of their future professional personality. Students
learn the purpose, objectives and content of preschool pedagogy mastered its underlying
concepts and learn actively and appropriately use them. Before them reveals the system of
preschool education in Bulgaria and its specific relevance to child development and
preparation for school. Presented the aim, objectives and content of work with preschool
children in the whole process and in different moments of the life and work of children in
different age groups. The course overview in nature, focusing on acquiring primarily on the
content of the basic concepts and enrich the overall educational culture of students who will
work as specialists in various fields of education.
Course content:
General aspects of preschool education. Terminology. Child of school age as the subject of
the educational process. Child and the society. Pre-school education in the Bulgarian
education system. Kindergarten, kindergarten. Pedagogical process in kindergarten 11
characteristic. Programs for educational work. Organization of subject-evolving environment
in kindergarten - principles. Forms of work organization with the kids. Child's Play - basic
terms and concepts. Continuity between the nursery, kindergarten and school. Work with the
family
Evaluation and assessment: The course presented in a logical plan based on optimal selected
illustrations, the basic concepts of preschool pedagogy and the subject and object of its
research. They are held to the tasks and suggest discussion in which students actively
mastered conceptual apparatus and formed their emotional attitude towards teaching practice.
The requirements for the semester are: 1). regular attendance of lectures and practical
exercises, 2). active participation in practical activities in kindergarten and involvement in
conferencing and educational activities, and 3) presentation of individual papers on topics
specified by the teacher and tasks.

Annotation:
The “Elementary school pedagogy” course targets the problems of the whole educational
process in the elementary school. The specifics of the education and training in the primary
classes, the consequential content features and the procedural and technological design of the
pedagogical process are in the spotlight of the current study program. New pedagogical
realities raise the need of respective structural and functional changes of the elementary
education system. The effectiveness of this system depends largely on the preparation of the
pedagogical specialists. The dynamic educational environment requires from the future
elementary school teachers to form a high pedagogical culture in which pedagogical
knowledge acquired, formed skills and competences, established relations and attitudes hold
principal place.
Contents:
The study program covers a wide range of problems related to: the status of the pedagogy of
the elementary school and its place in the system of pedagogical sciences, content and
procedural technology side of training and education in primary schools, the adaptation of the
small student to the school environment, the motivation of pupils at primary school age for
active and effective learning, the evaluation and diagnostic activities in primary schools, the
specifics of the professional work of primary teachers.
Teaching and assessment:
The course includes lectures and seminar classes. The used teaching methods are: exposition,
lecture, discussion, interactive methods - teamwork, working on school projects, pedagogical
situations solving, role plays, tests, case studies and more. The exam is written - on the topics
from the lecture course. The final assessment is based on the performance assessment during
the semester, evaluation of the semester research project and the exam grade all together.

Anotation: The General English course focuses on accuracy and fluency with an integrated
skills and strategy-based curriculum that aims at developing the four language skills—
listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The course also focuses on improving pronunciation
and increasing vocabulary. Participants are placed in one of the following stages based on
their placement test results: beginner, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, and preadvanced. To ensure consistency of instruction, one series is used for each stage.
Course content: The training focuses on a variety of everyday essential topics to ultimately
improve participant fluency, accuracy and ability to communicate. It gives the students some
extra practice they need to become fluent. The main idea is to focus on the students' ability to
express themselves in everyday situations. Therefore, students work on pronunciation,
vocabulary and idioms (in the advanced level) to further develop their conversational skills.
They also receive individualized feedback on grammar and pronunciation errors. Class
activities include: group discussions, role plays, pronunciation, and games.
Evaluation and assessment: Final evaluation includes:
- Attendance.
- Written and oral presentation of an own design project.
- All self-study assignments submitted.
- Final written test (min. 66% correct).
- Oral exam.

Annotation:
Basics of special education is a fundamental discipline that set the beginning of a cycle
pedagogical subjects focused on training, education, development, rehabilitation, integration
and socialization of children with special educational needs (CSEN). The course is intended
for acquiring the pedagogical minimum amount of knowledge for identifying and working
with children with special educational needs. The basic aspects, of the development of the
children with SEN, are outlined. The purpose of the discipline is to set the general issues of
Special pedagogy and to reveal its place in the system of pedagogical sciences.

Course content:
The main substantive highlights are: basic knowledge of the nature and objectives of special
pedagogy; the main types of disabilities; the terminology; the main characteristics of persons
with abnormalities in psychophysical and social development; the main correctional
rehabilitation forms of interaction with them; the existing system working with CSEN and
fundamental pedagogical paradigms in this area; the conditions for the integration of persons
with disabilities in social processes; the approaches to normalize the social environment in
which they live in.
Teaching and assessment:
Course of study includes lectures which set and discuss various issues with the use of
multimedia presentations. The knowledge are available in the system using interactive
methods - case studies, discussions, debates, role-plays, planning and conducting miniexperiments to analyze the behavior of CSEN in different situations and different social and
cultural environment. There were strict criteria for the development of papers, which are
transmitted within a given period for checking. After that all papers will be discussed in class.

The course aims to provide systematic information about the origin and development of sociopsychological knowledge relating to:

Course content: Part one: The process of socialization, social and psychological theories of

The assessment of the students’ results is done accordingly to the ECTS. The rating on each
subject is formed at the end of the course on the basis of the rating of a written essay on a

History of social pedagogy is scientifically logical expectation that social organization and

individualistic societies. Proved philosophical theory that education in the historical process

Annotation: The course deepens students' knowledge on the basics of preschool education.
Pre-school education is seen as an independent science that uses various methodological and
theoretical approaches to enrich content. Analyzed both ways for the socialization of
children's personality (acceleration and amplification) in terms of educational technology in
the educational process. Reveals the formation of pedagogical understanding of the role of the
teaching process in the development of the child as a person and subject to various types of
activities and relationships. The structure of the course focuses on the practical character of
preschool education and formation of common professional, pedagogical and technological
abilities of the student.
Course content: The aim and objectives of education in pre-school - acceleration and
amplification. Conceptual apparatus of preschool education in terms of different conceptual
and theoretical approaches (axiological, person-centered, activity - conceptual, structural,
functional, psychological). Regularities of the pedagogical process in kindergarten and
technological approaches to maintenance and operation. Psychological foundations of preschool education as a basis for the organization of the teaching process (primary neoplasm imagination, a leading mental function - emotions). Pedagogical conditions for the
socialization of the child's personality. Content of education and integrative processes in the
teaching process: theory and practice. Game and toy in a child's life - psychological,
sociological and pedagogical approaches. Organization of the life and work of children in
kindergarten (pedagogical technology to organize daily routine). Continuity between
kindergarten and primary school, preparation and readiness for school. Teaching and
assessment:
Training is done in specially designed by professor E.Yanakieva educational and methodical
complex, which requires the students to develop their skills to apply different methodological
approaches to develop their critical thinking and pedagogical imagination. The course
presented in heuristic plan, based on extensive evidence and illustration, various points in
accordance with the specific issues. Seminars and workshops are held to the tasks and suggest
discussion with the participation of the entire student group. Seminars require advance
preparation of students in accordance with the requirements of the educational and methodical

complex. Use built- talk, discussion (reports, essays, school essays), analyzing and
commenting on pedagogical situations and tasks, Case - method exercises for the
development of autonomy and critical thinking, colloquia and tests for self-check exercises to
develop pedagogical and technological capabilities. Practical exercises are built on a visit to a
kindergarten and skills required to carry out monitoring and pedagogical analysis of specific
teaching situations.
The requirements for the semester are: 1) Regular attendance at lectures, seminars

Master the skills and techniques for creative application in specific experimental situations
and practice in the nursery of the leading trends in teaching science.
Course content: Characteristics and specificity of the cognitive activity of children
from preschool to explore the surrounding reality. Forms of organization of cognitive activity
of 3-7 year old child. Visual and verbal methods to explore the environment. Monitoring - the
main method of active cognitive activity. Lecture as a method to explore the environment.
Research the child from preschool. Didactic means. Knowledge of the social environment of
3-7 - year-old child - a technology for the child and the child process. "Get to know yourself"
- actual problem of cognitive interaction with the child. Nature and characteristics of social
experimentation. Knowledge of the flora of the natural environment. Explore the wildlife of
nature. Knowledge of inanimate matter of 3-6 - year-old - need and importance of the process
of child development.
Teaching and assessment: The learning process includes lectures and practical
classes in kindergarten. Leaders are: humanistic approach in the selection and interpretation of
curriculum, interactive methods, problematic situations, analysis of positive practices.
Students observe and carry out activities (intentional situations) with children of different
ages, develop a plan, synopses / projects by age group or one age group, using different forms
of organization and methods of cognitive interaction with the children, designed and produced
teaching materials; develop pedagogical situations, role plays, scenarios slides and
educational films, methods of research - tests, questionnaires, non-standardized interviews,

Annotation: The course in phonetics of the English language for the students of
primary pedagogy is theoretically and practically oriented to the enhancement of their
knowledge of the phonetic and phonological characteristics of the language. It offers detailed
discussion of the acoustic and intonational features of connected speech in English and gives
systematic description of the places of articulation of the English vowels and consonants as
well as the cases progressive and regressive assimilation characterizing word sounds in
English. Students are acquainted with basic concepts in phonetics and phonology and trained
to recognize their realization in speech and language.
Course content: The course is organized in two modules: 1) acoustic and articulatory
phonetics and 2) phonology. The first module presents the specific acoustic and articulatroy
features of the sounds of English. The second one is more theoretically oriented to the
concepts of phonology such as phone, phoneme, allophone, distinctive feature, syllable, stress
and intonation.
Technology of education and assessment: The credits the course provides are
allocated as follows:
- 10% participation in classes;
- 30% mid-term tests;
- 60% cumulative exam, the student receives 40% of the final grade from the mid-term
evaluation and 60% from the final test.
Performing their self-study assignments students are expected to master the language
categories presented in class. A final exam is given at the end of the course. The students’
achievement is also assessed through a combination of tests and submitted written and project
work during the semester. The mid-term tests provide the basis for feedback and information
on the level of students’ preparation. Those who can’t meet the course requirements within
the semester are given extra tasks.

Course content: Course is required for laying the foundations of the methodological
training of students - future teachers of foreign languages in kindergarten and primary school.
Purpose of the training course is to give students of knowledge about the specifics, the
principles, conditions and methods of early language development of children based on the
communicative approach and through various forms of gaming activity. An important element
of the curriculum is to familiarize with the main emphasis on learning a foreign language: the
formation of communication skills (listening and speaking), control and activation of foreign
language vocabulary, use of grammar and rules forming a hearing aid pronunciation habits,
preparation for reading and writing in a foreign language.
Teaching and assessment: Lecturing is done according to the curriculum - lectures
grouped in a block of 2 hours. During each lecture, students can express their reasoned
opinions and to provide a self - made papers. The specifics of the training course and to
achieve the objectives, tasks and deliverables provides for the following forms of self-study:
oral defense of each job performed by students at home, the library and the kindergarten/
didactic games , papers, synopses of activities/.
Unless written a paper about as part of the final assessment, the curriculum provides for oral
presentation at 2 abstract two -set themes, 2 games (synopses of speech activities for shaping
evaluation of the current control).

Annotation: This course is designed for students in pre-school and primary school
education. It displays the total theoretical and psychological foundations of musical education,
traced the development of musical abilities and specificities of the musical development of
children and young preschoolers. Particular attention is paid to the educational system of
musical education, as in modern light are discussed the specificity of pedagogical interaction,
design and organization of the arts and activities of a teacher, the forms of organization of
pedagogical interaction in the process of musical activity.
The second section of the program is dedicated to teaching technology to master various
forms of musical activity (perceptive, executive, creative) that create optimum conditions for
carrying out the tasks of the musical education of children in the first seven years of their
lives.

theoretical foundations of musical education, psychological foundations but musical
education and teaching system for music education

Annotation: The course envisages the acquisition of generalized ideas about the
construction of the pedagogical process in mother-tongue, but also knowledge of specific
methods and techniques for speech development and their ability to apply them in varying
conditions. The goal is for students to acquire a knowledge of the technology of the
pedagogical impact on speech development in children, and the specific expectations are
formation in them of complex professional skills development of children's speech.
Course content: At the core modules to analyze the theoretical basis of the content
and organization of the development of speech and specific guidance in speech development.
Deals with pedagogical theories and technologies for the development of coherent speech ,
lexical enrichment fund, speech culture of speech, grammatical structures and rules for
literacy training and using literature.
Teaching and assessment: Lecturing is done according to the curriculum - lectures
grouped in a block of three hours. During the lectures students can comment and respond to
problematic issues and to present oral self - made papers. Practical exercises are aimed at
development of students syllabus with diagnostic and training activities with the children,
teaching games and lexical grammar exercises, self- monitoring and implementation of
speech activities in a kindergarten. The current control provides development and presentation
of didactic material (didactic games, diagnostic methods, plan syllabus) and exam - a paper on
the topic from the syllabus .
PEDAGOGICAL THEORY AND TECHNOLOGY FOR MASTERING THE
STRUCTURAL AND TECHNICAL AND HOUSEHOLD ACTIVITIES IN
KINDERGARTEN

Annotation:
The course provides competence in respect of the initial formation
skills of children in the preschool age -specific labor and constructive technical activity.
Course content: Structural- functional model of the process of acquiring labor
activity. Nature of technical education, history of when the idea beginning, the specifics of its
contents and forms of realization in us. Concept of technological culture and functional
literacy. Components and Propedeutics. Impact on the purpose of labor education in
preschool. Levels of development of the child's constructive and technical activities (TKTD CCTA ). Educational aspects of CCTA. Diagnosis and assessment of the level of development
of CCTA. Pedagogical interaction in CCTA. Characteristics of educative situations to work

with different materials. Place and role of the game in learning to work and constructively and
technical activity. Economic education - nature, milestones, key strategies and methodology
in the pre-primary level of pedagogical interaction.
Teaching and assessment: Basic principle - a dialogue between teaching and
studying. Lectures, complementary with individual and group work on case studies,
discussions in small groups, simulations, design activities, development of alternative options
of pedagogical situations observing pedagogical work.

Annotation: The third part of the practical English course for the students of primary
pedagogy finalizes their preparation for B1 level by building up on the skills and
competencies acquired during the previous term. It introduces terminological clarification in
students’ theoretical knowledge and enhances the fluency of their practical performance. Its
aim is to help them use their reading, writing and listening skills as well as their ability to
compose texts and participate adequately in communication in English in a classroom
environment and prepare them to render their knowledge of English to students at the primary
stage of education. At the end of the course students are expected to be able to use English at
B1 level and explain their knowledge clearly and plainly.
Course content: Systematization of students’ knowledge of the system of the English
language at level B1 by way of: grammatical and lexical cloze test aimed at perfecting
students’ ability to differentiate nuances of meaning; writing assignments on specific topics;
oral/written presentations meant to improve students’ capacity to get their ideas across in a
clear and comprehensible manner; self-study tasks for review and practice.
Technology of education and assessment: The credits the course provides are
allocated as follows:
- 10% participation in classes;
- 30% mid-term tests;
- 30% homework assignments;
- 30% cumulative exam, the student receives 70% of the final grade from the mid-term
evaluation and 30% form the final test.
Performing their self-study assignments (essay writing, translation, brief oral or
written presentations) students are expected to master the language constructions and the
vocabulary taught in class as well as the structural features of English. A final exam is given
at the end of the course. The students’ achievement is also assessed through a combination of
tests and submitted written and project work during the semester. Students’ individual
presentation skills are an important part of the evaluation. The homework check and the midterm tests provide the basis for feedback and information on the level of students’ preparation.
Those who can’t meet the course requirements within the semester are given extra tasks.

Annotation: Course presents the status of the group of various aged children in
kindergarten. Software systems are presented for organizing children's activities within the
group and the expected results. Emphasis is placed on the capabilities of group of various
aged children to develop social and cognitive areas of a child's personality. Acquire
technologies for organization and implementation of gaming, cognitive and creative activities
for children from ages 3 to 7 years.
Course content: Childcare characteristic of playgroup and group communities in
kindergarten. Group of various aged children as a pedagogical problem. Social functions of
various aged group. Individualization and differentiation of teacher interaction with children
of different ages. Research in various-aged group - results and conclusions. Gaming
technology, cognitive and creative activities for children from preschool age - specificity in
various aged group. Planning. Role of a teacher and the family.
Teaching and assessment: The course examines and interprets the program
documents and systems for the organization of children's groups and subgroups in
kindergarten. Leaders are: humanistic approach in the selection and interpretation of
curriculum, interactive methods, problematic situations, analysis of positive practices.
Students plan activities for working in various-aged group using different forms of
organization and methods, designed and produced teaching materials, develop pedagogical
situations, role plays, scenarios slides and educational films, methods of research - tests,
questionnaires, non-standardized interviews, situational and projective techniques, performed
independent studies in kindergarten, on issues related to explore the environment, including
children with special educational needs.
PEDAGOGICAL THEORY AND TECHNOLOGY FOR HARNESSING THE
PHYSICAL CULTURE

Annotation: The course is compulsory module of the specialty curriculum. Provides
theoretical, technological and practical training of students in physical education in
kindergarten. Designed to develop knowledge, skills and competencies for planning,
organizing and conducting educational process that private didactics with 3-7 year old

children. Formed competencies of future teachers interact with the children. Prepare them and
in the diagnosis of various conditions, changes, establishing gender differences, level of
variability on different aspects of children's functional, motive, motor and other options.
Provides training to identify the processes and phenomena related to physical education and in
particular with the development of motor skills and the formation of motor skills and habits of
the children.
Course content:
I. Theoretical and methodological foundations of preschool physical education.
II. Importance of physical education in the development of 3-7 years old children.
III. System of pre-school physical education in Bulgaria and comparative analysis with the
systems in other countries.
IV. Regulations that ensure the system. Educational content in physical education - modules,
cores, sections (feature ).
V. Biomechanics of the natural movements of children from birth to 7 years
VI. Pedagogical situations in physical education - types, tasks, characteristics, workload,
duration, structure, types and variants, planning.
VII. Methods and means of physical education for children.
VІІІ. Learning process in physical education in kindergarten - structure types and stages of
learning.
IX. Cognitive theory of motor learning - phases of the formation, properties and transfer of
motor skills and habits of the children.
H. Working capacity and fatigue of the child’s organism. Physical exercise - importance,
components, planning, management, control.
XI. Motor abilities of children - types, characteristics , development.
XII. Diagnosis of conditions and changes in processes and phenomena in the child's body and
in physical education in kindergarten.
XIII. Planning and management processes in physical education in the DG.
Teaching and assessment: The course is conducted through lectures and observing in
kindergartens.
The evaluation includes monitoring and a written exam and the final score is a function of
both. Technology for its formation and the criteria used are described in detail in the course
syllabus.
