Who is the programme for?
This qualification is most suited to learners who wish to embark on a career
as a beauty therapist and for anyone interested in massage

The programme will be for 3 hours per week for 18 weeks
What will I study?
The VTCT Level 2 Award in Facial Massage and Skincare is a specialist
vocationally related qualification. This qualification will develop the basic
knowledge, skills and competencies that learners need to provide hands on
facial cleansing, toning, moisturising, exfoliation, mask and massage
treatments for clients.
There are 3 mandatory units: Follow health and safety practice in the salon,
Provide facial skin care and Client care and communication in beauty-related
industries.

Wax Depilation

This qualification is most suited to learners who wish to embark on a career
as a beauty therapist

What will I study?
The VTCT Level 2 Award in Wax Depilation (QCF) is a specialist vocationally
related qualification. This qualification will develop the basic knowledge,
skills and competencies that learners need to provide hair removal treatments
for clients using waxing techniques.
There are 3 mandatory units: Follow health and safety practice in the salon,
Remove Hair using Waxing Techniques and Client care and communication in
beauty-related industries

Beauty Specialist Techniques
(includes facial skincare, eyelash and brow treatments and
make-up application)

The programme will be for 6 hours per week for 18 weeks
What will I study?
The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Beauty Specialist Techniques is a specialist
vocationally related qualification. Learners will develop the necessary
knowledge, understanding and skills to provide facial skincare, eyelash and
brow treatments and apply makeup.
Learners will also develop the knowledge and skills required to carry out client
consultation and comply with health and safety requirements in the salon.
Throughout the VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Beauty Specialist Techniques
(QCF) learners will be supervised by technical staff and assessed on their
occupational competence. This qualification is most suited to learners who
wish to pursue a career in the beauty therapy industry.
There are 5 mandatory units - Apply make-up, Follow health and safety
practice in the salon, Provide Eyelash and Brow Treatments, Provide facial
skin care and Client care and communication in beauty-related industries.
Students will also study 2 optional units

Nail Art

as a nail technician
When will I start and how long will it take?
The course will start in January 2012.
The programme will be for 3 hours per week for 18 weeks
What will I study?
This is specialist vocationally related qualification. This qualification will
develop the basic knowledge, skills and competencies that learners need to
provide basic nail art treatments for clients. This qualification is most suited to
learners who wish to embark on a career as a nail technician or add basic nail
art techniques to their existing portfolio of nail services treatments.
There are 3 mandatory units: Follow health and safety practice in the salon,
Client care and communication in beauty-related industries, Provide Nail Art

Indian Head Massage

Who is the programme for?
The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Indian Head Massage (QCF) is a specialist
vocationally related qualification. This qualification is most suited to learners
who wish to advance in their profession.
When will I start and how long will it take?
The course will start in January 2012.
The programme will be for approx 3 hours per week for 18 weeks
What will I study?
This qualification will enable learners at a minimum to gain skills, knowledge
and understanding required in order to perform Indian head massage
treatments for clients. Learners will gain skills and knowledge and the
understanding needed to perform professional Indian head massage
treatments for clients via employment or self employment in the beauty
therapy or complementary therapy industry.
There are 3 mandatory units - Monitor and maintain health and safety
practice in the salon, provide Indian head massage and client care and
communication in beauty-related industries

Swedish Body Massage

for clients

as a Beauty Therapist.

What will I study?
The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Make-Up and Manicure (QCF) is a specialist
vocationally related qualification. This qualification will enable learners at a
minimum to gain skills, knowledge and understanding required in order to
perform manicure treatments on the hands to improve the condition and
appearance of the skin and nails. Learners will also gain knowledge and skills
in the application of cosmetic make-up for clients as well as skills for
instructing clients on make-up application. This qualification, which will equip
learners with the required attributes, skills, knowledge and understanding
needed to perform professional manicure and make-up treatments for clients
via employment or self employment in the beauty therapy industry.
There are 5 mandatory units - Apply make-up, follow health and safety
practice in the salon, instruction on make-up application, client care and
communication in beauty-related industries and provide manicure treatments

What will I study?
This is a VTCT qualification in Acrylic Nail Extensions and Health and Safety.
This course would be ideal for students who are embarking on a career in the
nail industry or to further your career within the nail industry alike.

of natural nail overlays, Re-balance & Infills and Removal of extensions
