New Zealand welcomes young Israeli citizens (aged 18 – 30) who wish to travel
to New Zealand for a holiday while being able to work temporarily to support
themselves. There are 200 places available per year under the Israel working
holiday scheme.
Key requirements are as follows, you must:
 be a citizen of Israel, aged 18-30 and not be accompanied by any children
 have NZD $4,200 available (held in your name) for financial support
 be of good character and health
 hold medical and comprehensive hospitalisation insurance for the duration
of your stay in New Zealand.
A working holiday visa allows for a 12 month stay in New Zealand. Undertaking
any form of legal employment is permitted during this period; you do not need to
provide a job offer when you submit your application.
You will however be restricted to working for no more than three months in total
for any one employer. Please note it is a condition of every temporary visa
holder that while in New Zealand they may not:
i
Provide commercial sexual services; or
ii Act as an operator of a New Zealand business of prostitution; or
iii Invest in a New Zealand business of prostitution.
You are also able to study while you are in New Zealand as long as the courses
undertaken do not total more than three months in duration.
Obtaining a place under the Israel Working Holiday Scheme:
There are two options available for securing one of the 200 places under the Israel
working holiday scheme:
1. You can submit an online application by following this link:
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/workingholiday/israelwork
ingholidayscheme.htm
When you apply online you will be required to complete an online application
form and upload relevant supporting documents. If you are successful in being
allocated a place you will received an automated acknowledgement letter by
email which will provide you with information and instructions about what you
need to do.
2. Alternatively you can submit a manual application in person or by mail to
Bangkok branch.
Please note if you elect to submit a manual application, there is the
possibility that by the time your application physically reaches New
Zealand Visa Application Center/Bangkok branch the 200 available
places under this scheme may already have been allocated via the online
system.
To avoid the disappointment of this situation occurring it is therefore
recommended that you secure your place under this scheme by
submitting your application using the online option.
Application supporting documents checklist:
The following supporting documents are required to be submitted:
1. Completed application form (NZIS 1085) – this form can be downloaded from
the Immigration New Zealand website
2. Two identical passport sized photographs not more than six months old
3. Application fee - The application fee is a processing fee and is NONREFUNDABLE regardless of the outcome of your visa application. You have a
choice of paying either in Thai Baht or in US Dollars. Please refer to TTS
website at www.ttsnzvisa.com for current application and VAC service fees
4. Evidence of available funds totalling NZD $4,200. Acceptable evidence
includes bank statements, copies of bank books, traveller’s cheques or credit
card statements showing an available credit balance
5. Completed additional details form (please see below)
6. Health requirements: If you have lived in Israel for the past five years you
will most likely not need to provide any documentation regarding your health.
However, in the last five years if you have lived for more than three months in
any country which has a high risk of tuberculosis you will be required to
provide a temporary entry x-ray certificate. The x-ray certificate needs to be
completed by an INZ approved Panel Doctor and must be less then three
months old at the time you submit your application. The relevant x-ray
certificate (INZ 1096) and health requirements/information guide (INZ 1121)
can be downloaded from our website.
A list of approved Panel Doctors in Israel (and other countries) can be found
by visiting our website at the link below;
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/healthinfo/
7. Medical and Hospitalisation Insurance: Please note you must hold
comprehensive medical and hospitalisation insurance for the duration of time
you intend to stay in New Zealand. It is important you hold this insurance as
it may be required to be presented upon your arrival in New Zealand.
Notes
1. Immigration New Zealand reserves the right to request for additional
information in the course of assessing an application
2. You are required to provide certified translations of any non-English
documents submitted in support of your application
3. Certified copies must be stamped or endorsed as being true copies of the
originals by a person authorised by law to take statutory declarations.
Processing time
Working holiday visa applications are usually decided within 10 working days once
all the necessary requirements have been provided to us. For those that have
completed an online application this will be 10 days from the date your additional
details form is received by Bangkok branch. If for any reason your application is
going take longer to process you will be advised.
