2. The mare owner presents the mare to the breeding location healthy and sound for breeding. The stallion
owner/manager has the right to refuse to permit the breeding of any mare to the stallion if and when such
breeding would be detrimental to the health and welfare of the stallion.
3. The stallion owner/manager nor mare owner shall be liable or responsible to each other or to any other party for
disease, accident or injury to the mare or the stallion. Should the mare die or become unfit for breeding for any
reason after she has been covered by the stallion, mare owner may have the right to substitute a mare with the
stallion owner’s approval.
4. Should the above named stallion die or become unfit for service, then this Contract shall become null and void
and the Breeding Fee, less the Ranch Fee, shall be refunded.
5. A guarantee will apply for a live foal. If a foal does not stand and suck, a free season will be granted. This
guarantee will only apply if WCSS is notified by a statement from a licensed veterinarian within one (1) week from
death.
6. This agreement shall be binding upon the parties hereto, their heirs, personal representative, successors, and
assigns and shall be construed and governed in accordance with the laws of the state of California. Jurisdiction
and venue for any action arising as a result of this agreement shall be in San Luis Obispo County, California. In
the case of any default by one party, the party not in default shall have the right to recover attorney’s fees and
court costs as a result of enforcing their rights under this agreement.
7. Fees:
Stallion Breeding Fee for 2011: $500.00
On-Site Breeding Fees
Foaling Fee: $350 (if applicable)
One-Time Chute Fee: $300
Board/Mare Care: Dry $12/day, Wet $15/day, Stall $17/day
Veterinary Charges: Includes ultrasound, palpation,
cultures, fertility drugs, therapeutic drugs, etc.
Transported Semen Fees
One-Time Collection/Packaging Fee: $250
Ground Shipping: $75/shipment*
Counter-to-Counter:$125/shipment*
*Mare Owner will be responsible for
destination fees if applicable.
Reimbursement of any expenses incurred as a result of this contract shall be paid upon receipt of statement, in
addition to all breeding expenses deemed necessary by the Stallion owner or WCSS. Mares will not be released
until all expenses have been paid in full.
8. It will be the Mare owner’s responsibility to ascertain breeding/shipment days from WCSS.
9. Transported Semen:
a. All containers must be returned within five (5) business days to avoid late fees.
b. Since we do not require a deposit on our shipping containers, you must insure the container for $275 in
case of loss or damages.
c. Mare owner understands that the burden of conception is placed entirely on them and their veterinarian.
d. The mare must be bred the same day semen is received and proper methods of handling must be used.
e. WCSS will be held harmless if mare fails to settle for any reason.
f. Mare owner is responsible for completing and sending all AQHA or other breed paperwork.
10. The following must be received prior to shipping semen or breeding the mare:
a. Completed Stallion Service Contract and Transported Semen Information
b. A copy of the mare’s registration papers.
c. Payment in full: Stallion Breeding Fee + Chute Fee OR Collection/Packaging Fee + Shipping Fees
