For example, in 1998 I showed sculptures made of works by other artists. As my point of departure I took the visual and the haptic, on the one hand, and the concepts of the original and the copy, on the other. Through the medium of sculpture, the visual becomes haptic, the painting a sculpture. In general, my works call into question the representativeness of images. The process of creating the works is also an important part of the meaning and it can also be seen as a performance as in the exhibition Autoportraits – A Valedictorian Burnishing Her Image (2001). The series DEUS PROTECTOR NOSTER (2001-) includes road kill I have found along the route between Pori and Helsinki, which I have cast in bronze. The series shows my creative work as consisting of an everyday process of driving again and again. A following exhibition titled Anaesthetic Relation also reminds of the non-aesthetic aspects of the artistic work. CV (max.1500 chars.): DEGREES Meisterschüler. Because the works are bronze, they call into question the nature of painting and sculpture alike.
