BAPTISM PREPARATION AND APPLICATION
In the first instance contact Rev. Anthony to arrange
a preparation session. After the preparation session is
complete you can then arrange the date for the

Congratulations to Canon Paul McAleenan,
Parish Priest of Holyrood, Watford, who the
Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary Bishop
of Westminster.
Mass on Tuesday at Radlett will be at 9.30am.
Fr Kevin apologises for any inconvenience
this may cause.
Today, 29th November there will be a
Christmas fair after the10am Mass at Radlett
with various stalls, a raffle, gifts for the family,
bran tub, cake stall, etc and Santa Claus.
The Children’s Liturgy at Radlett. If your child
would like to take part in the Christmas Eve
Vigil Mass at 5pm then please sign the list on
the noticeboard. Reharsal will be on Wed,
23rd Dec at 10am, followed by a party for the
children and including a children’s raffle. Any
donations to the raffle would be
appreciated. Also if you and your children
would like to join in the Carol Service at Christ
Church on Sunday, 13th December you are
very welcome.
Christmas Afternoon Bring and Share Tea
Party at The Good Shepherd Church hall on
Sunday 6th December at 4.00pm. Our
invitation is open to families and parishioners
from all our parishes. We would be grateful if
you could bring a plate of food to share at
the tea party. Please let me know if you and
your family will be joining us so that I have a
rough idea of numbers and can prepare
accordingly on 01923 839993. We will have
some games and a sing-a-long for all. Many

Autumn Journeys with Sr Avril at St Anthony

The Food Bank at Christmas: Please could you
donate the following so we can bless families
who struggle at this time of year: Christmas
Puddings, Mince Pies, Christmas Cakes,
Pannetones, Christmas Chocolates and sweets
(for children and adults), Wine/bottles of beer or
Christmas Crackers. Thank you for all your
donations, Foodbank Management Committee.

First Holy Communion & Reconciliation
Parent Sessions: Parent’s sessions are at St
Anthony’s Church on Mondays at 8pm on
11 Jan and 1 Feb 2016. Parents need to attend all
parent sessions and children all children’s sessions or
they will not be ready to receive the Sacraments.
Candidates Sessions:
London Colney: All sessions will take place at
London Colney from 4pm to 5.45pm on 17th, 23rd
Jan, 27th Feb, 19th Mar, 23rd Apr 2016. The
Sacrament for recieving First Holy Communion
will be on 8th May at London Colney.
Radlett: (downstairs after Mass from 11am)
17th, 24th, 31st Jan, 7th Feb, 13th, 20th Mar, 17th, and
24th Apr 2016 – practice session with parents. .
The Sacrament for recieving First Holy
Communion will be on 1st May at Radlett.

Radlett Churches “Carols in the Community”
Sunday, 6th Dec at 3.pm at the Phillimore
Centre, Battlers Green, Radlett, WD7 8NN. Come
along and bring the family. There will be mulled
wine and mince pies.
Winter Event & Nativity Festival at St Peter’s
Church, Riverside, London Colney, AL2 1QA, on
Sat, 5th Dec, from 10.30am – 2.30pm: carols,
refreshments, games, stalls etc; free entry.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation during advent:
There will be a priest available to celebrate the
Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) after
the Masses on Sunday, 13th December. There
will be further, extra times on Christmas Eve.
Please remember the Sacrament of
Reconciliation is celebrated on Saturdays from
5.15pm at London Colney and usually at 9.30am
at Radlett on Tuesdays.
For those unable to get to any of the churches to
celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Fr
Kevin will be happy to call at their homes. If you
are unable to get to one of the churches and
would like Fr Kevin to call and to celebrate the
Sacrament of Reconciliation with you at home
then please leave your details with the parish
office by Friday 11th December with your name,
phone number and address including your
postcode. Fr Kevin will undertake these visits
during the week beginning 13th December.
Year of Mercy: The Extraordinary Jubilee of
Mercy begins with Pope Francis opening the
Holy Door in the Vatican on 8th December. The
Cardinal will open the Holy Door in Westminster
Cathedral in the context of Vespers and
Benediction at 3.30 pm on Sunday,
13th December. You are very welcome to attend.
Those making a brief pilgrimage during the Year
to the Cathedral Holy Door or the others through
the Diocese may gain the Jubilee Indulgence for
themselves or the Holy Souls. Our closest Holy
Door is at St William of York, 1 Du Cros Drive,
Stanmore, Middx HA7 4TJ. For other Holy Doors
please go to http://rcdow.org.uk/year-ofmercy/shrines-holy-doors/ . The Cardinal has
prepared A Pilgrimage Companion for the Year
of Mercy by way of explanation and to help us
experience God's mercy to the full. Copies of the
booklet are available from the back of all three
churches. More information about events during

Holy Year be for all, as Pope Francis wishes, 'a
true moment of encounter with the mercy of
God.'
Ecumenical Advent Talk on Tuesday,
8th December at 8pm in St Anthony of Padua
Church hall. Everyone is welcome. The speaker
is the Rt. Rev. Stephen Venner, retired Anglican
Bishop. Seasonal Refreshments available.
Christmas Raffle at London Colney: Kathleen
Wolstencroft is organising the Raffle of a
Christmas Hamper at London Colney and tickets
will be available soon. If anyone would like to
make a contribution to the hamper then please
let Kathleen have the item(s). Thank you.
London Colney Christmas Vigil Mass: If your child
would like to take part in the short nativity scene
during the Christmas Eve Mass on Thursday 24th
December at 4.30pm please add their names to
the sign up sheet at the back of the church with
a contact number, thank you.
Please support our parishes’ winter care and
outreach for the elderly & vulnerable, the
homeless & the needy, by making a financial
contribution via the envelopes provided at the
back of the churches at the beginning of

Please support the work of The Passage working with
Homeless People. If you donate through The Big
Give website just after 12.00 noon on 4 or 5
December every £1 is worth £2 due to matched
funding. There is an element of competition for full
matching from The Big Give so if possible please
give just after 12.00 noon on Friday 4 December or
Saturday 5 December. The Big Give site is quieter on
the Saturday and the matched giving remains open
throughout that day and potentially until 14
December if sufficient funds are available.
