Alumni Internship at CIT
Job Description
Reporting to the Alumni Relations Officer and the Industry Liaison Manager, the
Alumni Intern will actively support, promote, and develop the alumni relations
activity at CIT. This will entail the implementation of a range of new initiatives and
activities which support this goal amongst all CIT students (including constituent
colleges).
The Intern will be based in the Development Office and the successful candidate can
be from any discipline area, i.e. Business, Engineering, Science, Art & Music etc.
The successful applicant will work with the Alumni Relations Office and the
Development Office team.
About the Internship Programme
The programme aims to actively work to increase awareness of CIT Alumni Office
among undergraduate students. The internship will particularly focus on introducing
graduating students to CIT Alumni Association. The role of the Alumni Intern is vital
in building a relationship with students prior to graduation.
Key Duties
 The successful candidate will be expected to build and enhance the relationship
between current CIT students and the CIT Alumni Office
 Promote the alumni brand to students, alumni and staff through a number of
activities
 Seek class Alumni Ambassadors from final year classes to facilitate
communication and tracking of class after graduation
 Assist in the promotion of the First Destinations Survey to final year students
 Build strong relationships with constituent colleges by hosting and supporting
various events and activities
 Assist in the facilitation of alumni visits to campus for reunions and other events
 Maintain the Alumni database to ensure that it is complete and accurate
 Maintenance of Alumni section of the website
 Evaluate the utilisation of e-promotional tools, Alumni E-News and social
networking tools to reach target audience
 Use of Facebook and twitter to promote events and activities
 Collate news stories on alumni for inclusion in Alumni publications
 Take a proactive role in the expansion of current benefits and services available
to alumni
 Present quarterly to the Alumni Association Committee on progress made
 Carry out other duties as requested by the Alumni Relations Officer and the
Industrial Liaison Manager

Terms and Conditions
The successful candidate will be contracted from the 2nd September 2013 until 31st
May 2014, subject to quarterly reviews. It is envisaged that the Intern will complete
a second year from the 2nd September 2014 until 31st May 2015.
The role demands a minimum of 14 hours per week and the Intern will also be
expected to study for either a taught or research Masters Degree from those offered
in CIT.
The Intern will be paid €166.00 per week (14 hours)
Funding for this initiative is provided by CIT Bank of Ireland Affinity Credit Card
Scheme.
