If relevant to your application: describe how you will maintain or improve the good ecological condition of the BAP woodland priority habitat type, or the Ancient Semi-Natural Woodland or PAWS site demonstrate your management is aimed at working towards bringing 100% of the SSSI/Natura woodland feature into favourable condition Tree Regeneration – aim for the presence of native tree and shrub species characteristic of the site and locality. Aim for non-native species to be absent or contained at existing or low levels. Aim for improved ground and field vegetation layers. Herbivore impact – the exclusion of grazing livestock may not be enough to encourage tree regeneration and varied vegetation structure. If you are promoting natural regeneration within your woodland or along the woodland edge, tell us how you will protect it and if you intend to carry out any planned ground disturbance/preparation.
