MD/DNB/Diploma in Psychiatry/Psychological Medicine; MD in
Geriatric Medicine recognized by Medical Council of India. Candidates
with MD/DNB/Diploma in Psychiatry/Psychological Medicine/Geriatric
Medicine will be required to have completed 3 years of Senior Residency
in Geriatric Mental Health/Psychiatry/Psychological Medicine/Geriatric
Medicine to be eligible for Fellowship.

Reservation: To follow reservation roster from year to year as per rule since it is super
specialization education, it is not subject to reservation – open to every
one.

Fellowship Programme in Geriatric Mental Health
Application are invited for “Fellowship in Geriatric Mental Health” in the Department of Geriatric Mental
Health, CSM Medical University, (Erstwhile King George’s Medical University), Lucknow.
Preamble:
In view of the fast growing population of the older adults and enormous mental health
morbidity, “Fellowship in Geriatric Mental Health” programme has been approved by the
medical university to generate skilled human resource to manage mental health problems in
the older adults.
Course of Fellowship: One year. The Fellowship will commence from 1 St August or 16th January every year.

Eligibility :
DM/Diploma in Geriatric Mental Health; DM in Neurology; MD/DNB/Diploma in Psychiatry
/Psychological Medicine; MD in Geriatric Medicine recognized by Medical Council of India,
Candidates with MD/DNB/Diploma in Psychiatry/Psychological Medicine/Geriatric Medicine
will be required to have completed 3 years of senior Residency in Geriatric Mental
Health/Psychiatry/Psychological Medicine/Geriatric Medicine to be eligible for fellowship.
Application : Candidates are required to furnish application on plain paper including their Bio data and
attaching their C.V. The candidates are also required to submit an essay of not more than
one thousand words stating the training they wish to obtain, why he/she wishes to get the
training and how the training will benefit their carrier/mother institution/subject.

Selection Process : Through screening committee at the level of the Department & a Selection Committee
at the level of the university constituted by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor.
Emoluments : Sponsored candidates will be obtaining their emoluments from their employers & others
will be paid emoluments equal to Senior Residents- III.
Job & Job responsibilities : The Fellows will be working as full time post PG trainee & will work
similar to the Senior Residents in the Department of Geriatric Mental Health.
Depending on the day to day assessment, which will include patient care,
presentation during rounds and in clinics, seminars, the Fellow will be awarded a
Certificate of having successfully completed a Fellowship in Geriatric Mental
Health.
Accomodation : Hostel accommodation will be provided, if available on payment of hostel fee.
Interview :
No TA/DA shall be paid for appearing in the Interview.

Fees :
The candidates will have to pay Rs. 15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) as fees for the
period of the Course i.e. one year.
