Varsity Revue Steering Positions
STEERING COMMITTEE APPLICATION
MORE THAN ONE PERSON MAY BE SELECTED FOR SPECIFIC STEERING POSITIONS
VOCALS/ CHOREOGRAPHY
Responsible for the overall on-stage vocal and choreographed production. Advises performers on staging, dancing,
music, singing, and responsible for final audio production of all musical arrangements. Attends group practices in
order to provide support and constructively criticism. Attendance is mandatory for all Sunday walkarounds.
PRODUCTION (TECH)
Shall serve as a liaison between the performers and the technical crew of the Seretean Center. Coordinates
backstage activities during tryouts and performance nights. Responsible for handling technical and script concerns
of the masters of ceremony. Also, responsible for coordinating video production and all slideshow needs.
PROGRAMS
Oversees production of printed program, including overall layout, ads and copy writing. Also, responsible for
promotional and program photographs, including cast photos.
PUBLICITY/CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT
Responsible for promoting Varsity Revue in Stillwater and involving the community organizations. Also
responsible for mail inserts, A-frames, hanging fliers, radio and television coverage, and developing/dispersing
press releases. Other responsibilities include: Contacting the O’Colly about articles, organizing dinner
announcements, chalking, communicating with the school of Journalism, and leading promo week.
JUDGES COORDINATOR
Oversees the selection of judges for tryouts and the performances. Also serves as a host to the judges during
tryouts and performances by scheduling dinners for each night of the show.
TICKETS
Responsible for the design and production of all tickets and coordination of ticket sales.
PHILANTHROPY
Responsible for promoting the philanthropy throughout the community and overseeing fundraisers, philanthropic
events, etc. If chosen for Head of Philanthropy, you will work closely with Exec to oversee the philanthropic
project. *If desiring either of these positions, please express your ideas for raising money and making philanthropy
a larger part of this year’s show.
ADVERTISING DESIGN
Oversees the advertising Campaign for Varsity Revue, including the mail inserts. In charge of designing the VR logo
for this year’s theme. Also, responsible for designing and ordering the steering T-shirts. Will work with the
Programs Committee and assist in photographing all VR events.
