Civil Engineering Undergraduate Program I. Duration&Degree The program typically takes four years. The students can also choose to complete the program in 3 years or withthin 8 years. Successful graduate will aquire a bachelor of engineering degree. II. Major Disciplines Mechanics, civil engineering Ⅲ. Course Strucutre Major courses include:theoretical mechanics, material mechanics, structural mechanics, engineering survey, civil engineering materials, concrete structure, principal theory of steel structure, geotechnical engineering, geology, foundation engineering, ,bridge and tunneling, traffic engineering, civil engineering construction, engineering economy and project management. The courses are divided into 3 course groups. A student will be required to major in one group and also have to take at least two core courses in other two groups: 1. Building structural engineering group: building architecture, masonry structure, design of building steel structure, design principle of composite structure, high-rise building structure and earthquake resistance. 2. Geotechnical and underground structural engineering group: Geotechnical engineering, underground engineering design principles, underground engineering construction, foundation of disposal technique, geotechnical engineering survey. 3. Urban rail transportat engineering group: bridge engineering, roadway survey and design, roadbed and pavement engineering, traffic engineering, rail alignment and station design. Ⅳ. Internship and Practice survey practice, construction practice, metalworking practice, electronics and electrical engineering practice, course project and experiment, and undergraduate graduation project (thesis). Ⅴ. Minimum Credits Requirement Minimum graduation credits is 184 points.
