PROCTORING POLICY
DePaul University offers test proctoring services to (1) DePaul students who are enrolled in
online or correspondence courses at other institutions and (2) to the general public on a fee basis.
This proctoring service includes verifying picture ID for the individual taking the exam,
explaining the instructions conveyed by the instructor, verifying as far as possible that the
student does not take anything into the exam room that is forbidden by the instructions, giving
the student the exam, accompanying the student to the exam room, checking on the student
approximately every 30 minutes, collecting the exam from the student, and returning it to the
examining institution.
Students taking online courses from DePaul University should follow the exam administration
policies set forth by the individual college offering each course. These individual policies may
differ from the policy described in this document. If a college or university has made separate
arrangements with a DePaul employee or office, those arrangements are also outside the scope of
this policy.
