To aid your introduction to the Club and the facilities we have available we have put together the following information pack which hopefully you will find informative and helpful in getting the most out of your current membership package. Our resident Club Professional will be able to assist you with any equipment, clothing or lesson requirements. Can I ask you to inform us if you change your home address, telephone number or email address so that we can keep our records up-to-date. If you have any specific questions then please let me know. Many thanks and enjoy your golf David Hancock Club Secretary. Page 2 Membership We have various categories of membership to suit your playing requirements. Details of the benefits, costs and advantages are shown in the enclosed summaries. Competition Information Details of all the various Ladies, Men’s and Mixed competitions are shown at Appendix 1. Junior competition details are available from the Junior Organiser. If you do not have an existing handicap on joining the club then you will need to submit three valid cards for assessment by the Match and Handicap Committee. The process is to: a) Organise a member with a handicap to “mark” your card, b) Sign the card, together with your “marker” and submit this via the Pro Shop after your round (or as soon as possible). Please ensure you indicate clearly that this is for handicap purposes and the tee used during the round i.e. Red, White or Yellow. Cards should be submitted as stroke play and ideally in a six month timeframe. The M&H committee will then consider the appropriate handicap for your playing ability in line with CONGU guidelines and contact you as soon as possible. Entry to Competitions is either via a computer system called “Masterscoreboard” or via the touchscreen in the Club House . The URL for Masterscoreboard is http://www.masterscoreboard.co.uk/ClubIndex.php?CWID=5143. Access this initially by selecting your name and entering your default password (provided to you separately) which will enable you to log on via your home computer. Exceptionally, competition entry will be via manual sign-up sheets posted to club noticeboards. The current fixture list is included in this pack.
