Graphic organizers can provide a frame for ensuring that your paragraphs have sufficient information,
or that the main idea be adequately supported. You should have 3 strong supports for your topic
sentence.
Topic Sentence: Cats are better than dogs
1st support (2-3 sentences)

Cats require less attention than dogs because they are
solitary animals. This means that cats allow you to
have more personal time without having to constantly
worry about walking them or worry if they are left
alone for long periods of time.

They do not require as much grooming

Cats are capable of cleaning themselves. That means
that they do not require baths like dogs do. If a dog is
muddy then a bath is a must, but a muddy cat will be
able to clean itself. Also, in general, cats have shorter
coats than dogs and require less combing.

They are not as noisy and are perfect for
any household

Dogs have a tendency to bark a lot. Cats, however,
only meow at their loudest. This means that
neighbours are less likely to complain about a noisy cat
than they are to complain about a noisy dog. Also,
because of their small size, cats can live in either big
houses or small apartments. Conversely, dogs require
more space than cats. Even small dogs can cramp up
an apartment, but cats are perfect pets for either large
or small dwellings.
Concluding sentence: The next time you’re considering purchasing a pet, consider the feline kind
over the canine because they will make much better pets.
