Call for Papers ACM Transactions on Intelligent Systems and Technology (ACM TIST) Special Issue on Computational Sustainability Computational Sustainability is a newly emerging interdisciplinary field that aims to apply techniques from computer science, information science, operations research, applied mathematics, and statistics for balancing environmental, economic, and societal needs for sustainable development. Mathematical models have traditionally been studied in disciplines as diverse as ecology, natural resource management, biodiversity, atmospheric science, biological and environmental engineering, and resource economics, but such models are now being integrated with techniques originating from Artificial intelligence. This special issue of ACM TIST calls for articles that study computational sustainability problems from an intelligent systems and technology perspective. Topics of interest include but are not limited to Intelligent Systems and Technology for Quantifying and Managing Uncertainty in Computational Sustainability Human-behavioral uncertainty in social-ecological systems Species Distribution, Monitoring and Tracking Sustainable Communities, Agriculture and other Applications Problems in Spatial Modeling and Resource Allocation, and Dynamic Optimization of Renewable Resources Green Energy, Transportation, Power Efficiency, Smart Grid, and Smart Cities Human Computing Interaction, models of social behavior, learning and influence, Crowdsourcing, and Social Networks for Sustainability Submissions On-Line Submission: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tist (please select “Special Issue: Computational Sustainability” as the manuscript type).
