When emailing me, format subject field as follows: Name/ ENGL-1102/TIME/Reason for email Computer Policy: All students at Clayton State are required to have access to a laptop computer and to use that computer actively in all courses for e-mail access, electronic submission of papers, and other uses. Attendance and Roll Call: Students must attend classes, and roll will be called during every class. Any student who misses five or more classes in a MW or TR class is subject to failure of that class no matter what the reason for absence. Three absences and/or excessive tardiness can cause grade reductions. Late Work and Make-Up Policy: All late work can receive a grade of no better than 80, but a 80 is not guaranteed. I do not grant make-ups for tests and exams! Copies: Students are REQUIRED to save ALL work on an external source such as a CD. Always keep copies of all important work--including print copies of electronic files--until after you receive your final grade in the course. Your instructor will retain your final exam, and may retain the originals or copies of your other papers, but the responsibility for document preservation (for grade appeals or other reasons) is yours. CAA The Center for Academic Assistance (CAA for short), located on the lower floor of the CSU Library, is available for help with writing or reading problems either on a drop-in basis or by appointment; an appointment is recommended for consultations; however, to use SkilssBank, audio-lessons, or videos, no appointment is required. Always log-in and log-out at the CAA! Also document your Study Journal of CAA visits. Students are required to visit the CAA. One hour is required before midterm--see calendar for exact date.
