Section 2 – Literature Review & Empirical Study

If any of these problems are ongoing and could impact on your ability to submit your thesis
on time, please give details as it may be appropriate for you to request an interruption to
your studies. NB: Interruptions are only considered in exceptional circumstances.
Section 5 – Plans for the next 6 months
IMPORTANT NOTE:
MPhil students who are mid-way through Year 2 (full-time) or Year 3 (part-time) and
PhD/DBA students who are mid-way through Year 4 (full-time) or Year 7 (part-time) are
required to submit their thesis within the next 6 months. You must work closely with your
supervisors to plan towards the punctual submission of your thesis. Extensions to your
submission deadline can only be considered in exceptional circumstances.

Section 6 - Meetings
Has the student met with you regularly throughout the last 6 months and have
they attended all scheduled meetings? Please give details of any issues with
attendance.
Has the student completed work and met targets that have been set for your

Progress with Fieldwork / Data Collection and Analysis: Please comment on the data
collection and any analysis undertaken so far.
Changes to fieldwork or other plans: Please comment on plans for any further data
collection required, re-application for ethical approval, and issues related to access etc.

development, language competency and progress as a researcher, including likelihood of
submitting a high quality PhD thesis and publications. Highlight any areas of development
