Dear Parent/Guardian:
Crab Orchard Elementary and the Lincoln County School District work to provide a safe and orderly
school. We hold high expectations for students’ behavior and encourage them to demonstrate
responsibility. We strive to create a leaning community where every student is both caring and cared
about, respects others, and is respected by them. Intimidation, harassment, or bullying is a violation of
the Code of Acceptable Behavior and Discipline. You, or your student, informed our administrators that
he or she is the victim of bullying. We need your assistance to gather some specific information in order
to intervene appropriately and effectively.
Please work with your student to provide answers to the following questions. Students who are bullied
often find it very difficult to discuss the situation. Assure your child that they have done the right thing by
reporting the bullying to adults. Let them know that they don’t deserve to be bullied. In the privacy and
security of your home, the answers to these questions are answered more easily. Once this paper is
completed, please place it in a sealed envelope addressed to the principal and mark it “Confidential.” The
information that you provide to us will be invaluable as we work to eliminate bullying.
1.
Who bullied you?
2.
What did the bully or bullies say or do to you?
3.
How long and how often has this been happening?
4.
When and where did the bullying last take place?
5.
Were there witnesses?
6.
Who did you tell at school and when did you tell them?
7.
What has happened as a result of telling an adult at school?
8.
Can you provide any additional information that may help us to resolve this issue?
