You must obtain a shipping quote and place your order. You’ll need to make a deposit payment. Scheduling of the transport will be arranged based on your agreed upon pick up dates. The dispatch office and/or the driver will contact you at least 24 hours in advance to arrange the details for the pick up once a truck has been assigned for your transport. A bill of lading/inspection report will be completed upon pickup by the driver and both the client and the driver will agree to and sign the form and a copy of the form will be left with the client. The dispatch office and/or the driver will contact the receiving location at least 24 hours in advance and upon delivery will re-inspect the vehicle for release and the receiver will sign for the vehicle and pay any remaining balance due in cash. What is the estimated transport time? Typical transport time coast to coast is 7 – 14 days in transit once the vehicle is picked up. The estimated transport times varies for shorter distances and your customer service representative will give you an estimate at time of booking the transport. Viking Transport cannot guarantee exact transport times due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather, road conditions, natural disasters and mechanical issues. Rest assured we will strive to deliver your vehicle in the estimated time frame. What type of insurance is included to protect my vehicle? You are provided with coverage for loss or damage of your vehicle up to the Kelley Blue Book value or a maximum of $100.000 during the time your vehicle is in transit. Viking Transport, LLC is also a vehicle transport broker that in addition to our own trucks also uses qualified carriers from across the United States to move some loads. All carriers that transport for us must submit proof that they carry full insurance that will cover the vehicles that they have on any given load. This insurance covers damage caused by accidents while the vehicle is loaded, major changes in the vehicle’s condition and unforeseeable damage that is a result of mishandling by the driver. What does door to door delivery mean? Door to door delivery means that the driver will get as close as physically possible to the front door of the receiving address as long as it does not compromise the cargo and/or your vehicle and other vehicles that may be on the carrier. If you live on a main road at least 2 lanes wide, with no overhanging trees, low bridges and/or power lines, and the streets leading to your house can accommodate trucks of up to 75 to 80 feet in length, the driver will pick up your vehicle at your door and deliver it to your door, if the same conditions apply at both locations. The driver will call in advance your pickup/delivery location to confirm your address and to discuss accessibility. If accessibility is limited, the driver may suggest meeting at a local shopping center or mall with ample space to load and/or unload your vehicle. Can I put some personal items in the vehicle and/or trunk of the vehicle? No, your car and its trunk compartment must be free of all personal belongings. There are several reasons for this. The primary reason being that the Department of Transportation does not allow for the transportation of “personal items” in a car that is being hauled by an “Auto Carrier”. The second reason is that any personal items in the vehicle are NOT covered by the carrier’s insurance. Lastly, all trucks have weight limitations that they must comply to. With the excess weight of a customer’s personal items placed within the car being transported, this can put the carriers transport truck over its weight limitation, and cause delays. So please, NO personal items in your vehicle while being shipped, or you may be subject to an additional surcharge. What kind of truck will transport my vehicle? Your vehicle may be transported on any number of transportation carriers from a 4 car flatbed car carrier to a 3 car wedge trailer to a 2-8 car enclosed carrier or up to an 8-10 car open hauler, the same type of carrier that is used to carry new cars to local dealerships. These trucks can be up to 75 to 80 feet long and are almost 14 feet high. They can be very hard to maneuver and are restricted to main roads that do not have any overhanging trees, low bridges and/or power lines. Please bear this in mind and ask the driver what type of truck he is using when directing the truck to your pickup or delivery location. Fully enclosed transports offer enhanced protection for your vehicles by providing protection from the elements. This type of transport offers a fully horizontal or an almost horizontal loading platform and is highly recommended for antiques, classics or exotic vehicles that may have limited ground clearance. Enclosed transport will cost $300.00 - $600.00 more depending on transport distances. Winch loading is also available for inoperable vehicles at and extra cost and at the client’s request. What form of payment do you accept? Viking Transport accepts wire transfers, cashiers checks, cash, Visa and MasterCard. MAKE A PAYMENT You can pay using a VISA or MasterCard, a Business Check or a Wire Transfer. Please contact us for further information.
