ASSIGNMENT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS IN STUDENT
WORK
As a general principle, UCL recognises the student as the owner of any IPR he/she produces
while a registered student of UCL. This principle may be subject to variation in the case of
collaborative or externally sponsored work, or other exceptional circumstances. Accordingly
this form transfers ownership of the intellectual property rights in your work to UCL.
Further details on intellectual property rights can be found in UCL’s Guidance to Students on
IPR Issues. You may also consult the UCL Copyright Officer or UCL Ventures if you require
further information.
Assignment of ownership of intellectual property rights
In consideration of the payment of £ , (receipt of which is hereby acknowledged) and
of the conditions set out in the regulations between myself and UCL governing my
obligations as a student of UCL, as artist/owner I hereby assign intellectual property
rights in the Work to the governing body of UCL on the terms and conditions set out
below.
The title to all intellectual property rights in the following work is hereby transferred to
the governing body of UCL.
