Michael Glass, chair of Midlands Region, will represent all of Members’ Council and Dave Wilson, chair of the International Special Interest Group, will represent the Institute’s SIGs. Michael Glass recently joined East Staffordshire Borough Council as Facilities Manager where he is responsible for a team which is restructuring the facilities management services over the complete portfolio of properties. Michael has been employed in roles relating to facilities management for the majority of his career and has wide experience internationally as well as in different client fields. Michael is an active member of BIFM and has been chair of the Midlands Region since 2004. Michael’s aim is to shift the emphasis to support for the individual member and to find a champion in the Jamie Oliver style to capture an increasing proportion of the FMs who are not yet members. Dave Wilson is currently Director of Corporate Services with FM provider Macro. Dave’s background was in hospitality management before he made the logical progression, for a service oriented manager, into FM in 1985. Dave is currently chair of the International SIG and also sat on the Board of IFMA’s FM Consultants’ Council with responsibility for global liaison from 2002-2003, and as Chair of EuroFM’s Practice Network Group was on the Board from 2005-2006. Dave is an advocate of a highly active, outward looking and business focused FM profession, with a strong emphasis on understanding and delivering strategic advantage to our organisations.
