STABLING
Loose Boxes are available and may be booked for the duration of the
show at £84.00 per stable, including VAT. Only shavings are permitted
A limited number of Barn type Stables (indoors) in the sponsor’s area are
available @ £110.00 per stable including VAT. (ON A FIRST COME
FIRST SERVED BASIS)
Other sponsors stables will be available in the Gold Area @ £97.50 per
stable including VAT.
THESE STABLES WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE TO SPONSORS.
PONIES MUST NOT BE LEFT OVERNIGHT IN HORSEBOXES OR TRAILERS.
CORRALS ARE NOT PERMITTED ONLY HORSES & PONIES COMPETING
AT THE SHOW ARE ALLOW ON THE SHOWGROUND.
EQUINE PASSPORTS/INFLUENZA VACCATION CERTIFICATES
Exhibitors are required to have Passports for all horses/ponies when competing at the show
and up to date Equine Inoculations Certificates for each of their exhibits. Any exhibitors
found without a passport or valid certificate for all their animals will be asked to leave the
showground.

BEDDING WILL NOT BE PROVIDED BUT WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR
PURCHASE PRIOR TO THE SHOW AND LIMITED SUPPLIES AVAILABLE AT

ELIGIBILITY
OVERSEAS VISITORS:- The Show Committee reserve the right to allow
overseas visitors to compete in all classes by invitation
ANIMALS ENTERED IN CLASSES:- 4-5, 8-16, 17-20, 43-48, 49-51,
60-69, 70-73, 86-89, 90-91, 98-109, 110-115, 124-138 must have
qualified at one of the qualifiers for the 2015 BSPS Winter
Championships Show. Ponies must be registered, owned and ridden by
BSPS Members.
CLASSES:- 151 to 154 are open to registered Anglo and Part Bred Arabs.
All Part Breds must contain the minimum of 12.1/2% Arab blood.
Owners must be BSPS Adult Showing Member. Riders must be BSPS
Adult Showing or Junior Members
CLASSES:- 182 to 185 are open to animals registered, owned and ridden
by CHAPS (UK) Members.
CLASSES 155-161 are open to members of The British Show Horse
Association. Horses must be registered with the Association and All
owners, exhibitors and riders must be association members. Riders must
be 15 years old and over.
CLASSES 162-168 will be judged under Sport Horse of Great Britain
Rules, only horses registered on the Show Hunter Register are eligible to
enter. Registration numbers must be quoted and owners and riders must
be members of the society.
ALL OTHER CLASSES are open to animals, owned registered and
ridden by BSPS members.
RESTRICTED & NOVICE RULES As the current BSPS Rule and Show
Hand Book.
Classes 178-181 CHAPS Horse of the Year Show Qualifiers – Only open to
CHAPS (UK) Members and registered Horses/Ponies with a Horse of the Year
Show Competition Number – Please see class rulings
Please see page 63 for qualifying rules – Horse of the Year Show rules take
precedence.
ROSETTES & SASHES
Finalist rosettes will be awarded to all competitors in the Winter qualifying
classes. Special Rosettes will be awarded to all competitors in the Leading Rein,
First Ridden, Tiny Tots and Cradle Stakes Classes. Rosettes will be awarded to
10th place in all classes.
Sashes will be awarded to the Champions and Reserve Champions and to
winners of the Cradle Stakes, Nursery Stakes, Lead Rein Hunter Type,
1st Pony SHT, Lead Rein and First Ridden classes.
The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Rider and Amateur rosette in the BSHA open
classes and a Championship rosette for each section.
AWARDS FOR COMBINED CLASSES
PRESENTATION OF DRESSAGE AND COMBINED AWARDS.
A notice regarding the presentations of awards will be posted at the
Dressage Arena. THE WSP SECTION Prizes will be presented in the
normal way at the end of each section.

HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW 2015
Classes 178, 179, 180 and 181 are qualifiers for the
2015 Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 7th – 11th October 2015
ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW
This Show is a qualifier for the 2015 Royal International Horse Show. Animals
in each of the following classes will qualify:- 6, 7, 21-24, 25-28, 35-38, 41-42,
52-59, 74-81, 82-85, 92-97, 116-123, 139-168.
THE BSPS “BLUE RIBAND PONY OF THE YEAR”
This Show is a qualifier for the
2015 BSPS Blue Riband Pony of the Year.
The Desert Orchid Blue Riband WHP/WH of the Year
The 1st and 2nd in classes 21-28 and will qualify.
The Blue Riband Lead Rein & First Ridden Pony of the Year. 1st and 2nd in
Classes 35-38 will qualify.
The Legend Blue Riband Show Pony of the Year. 1st and 2nd in Classes 52-57
will qualify.
The John Peel Blue Riband Show Hunter Pony of the Year. 1st and 2nd in
Classes 74-81 will qualify.
The Blue Riband Intermediate SRT and SH of the Year. 1st and 2nd in
Classes 92-97 will qualify.
THE BSPS “CLASSIC SECURITY (UK) LIMITED” CHALLENGE
This show is a qualifier for the 2015 BSPS CHALLENGE
The highest placed pony in classes: 6 -8, 17-20, 21-28, 33-38, 41-42 49-57, 7081, 90-91, 92-97, 106-109,114-119, 134-148 that has not qualified for the Horse
of the Year Show in the appropriate class, will qualify. If the highest placed
pony has already qualified for the BSPS CHALLENGE the qualification will be
awarded to the next eligible pony.
BSPS PREMIER LEAGUE
This show is a qualifier for the 2015 BSPS PREMIER LEAGUE.
The 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th placed pony in classes: 2, 3, 8, 17-20, 33-34, 49-51,
70-73, 90-91, 106-109, 114-115, 134-138 will qualify.
BSPS “BLACK COUNTRY SADDLES” RIDER OF THE YEAR.
The Best Rider in classes 2-3, 6-8, 17-28, 33-38, 41-42, 49-57, 70-81,
90-91, 92-97, 106-109, 114-119, 134-148 will qualify for the final at the BSPS
Summer Championships Show and the Best Rider in the Heritage classes who
have not attained their 25th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
BSPS CHAMPIONSHIPS SHOW
This Show is a qualifier for the 2015 BSPS Championships Show, to be held at
Arena UK, Allington, Grantham, Lincolnshire. The first and second prizewinners in classes 6-8, 17-23, 25-27, 33-38, 49-57, 70-81. and the first, second
and third prize winners only in classes 2 - 3, 20, 24, 28, 90-97, 106-109,
114-119, 134-148 provided the animal is owned registered and ridden by a
BSPS Member.

The winners of Classess 116 -119 the RIHS Heritage Lead Rein and First
Ridden, Classes 139 – 148 the RIHS Heritage Ridden classes will qualify for the
Final of the BSPS “WOW FACTOR” Winner of Winners Championships
The finals to be held at the 2015 BSPS Summer Championships Show
CHERIF CHAMPIONSHIP 2015
This is a qualifying show for the 2015 Cherif Championship
Classes 151 and 153
Two may qualify
The highest placed pony at 138cms & under, (Pink Card) and the highest placed pony
over 138cms up to and including 148cms (Blue Card) will qualify. Both ponies must
be within the first four in the class. Ponies will not be ridden by the judge at
qualifying shows, but will be ridden by a lightweight adult at the Cherif
Championship final.
Classes 152 and 154
Two may qualify
Over 148cms – To qualify : One White Card and one Green Card. Will be ridden
by the judge. The highest placed entries within the first four in the class at (a) up to
and including 153cms and (b) over 153cms will qualify. No entry placed lower than
fourth can qualify, even if only one height section is covered by the top four in the
class.
The final will be held at the Cherif Championships Show
at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Addington, Bucks.

TIME TABLE
The Timetable is approximate; classes (except for Dressage) may be called early. It is the
exhibitor’s responsibility to be available for classes.
JUDGING OF WHP CLASSES
In some WHP Classes one judge will judge jumping, style and manners whilst jumping and
Phase II manners. The other judge will judge type, conformation and freedom of action.
Ponies will do their individual show in the same ring immediately following their jumping
round then remove any boots and go to the second judge for conformation.

Championship qualifying shows, but will give an individual show. These ponies
will be ridden by a lightweight adult at the final.

BRITISH SHOW HORSE ASSOCIATION
RIHS Qualifying Classes
Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association, Horses must be registered with
the Association and all Owners, Exhibitors and Riders must be Association Members. Riders
Must be 15 years and over. Classes 155 to 161 are qualifiers for the Royal International
Horse Show. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified
the second will qualify, if the first and second are already qualified then the third will go
forward.
The three highest placed prize winners in open classes will qualify to compete in the BSHA
Classic Supreme classes at the National Championships Show in September 2015.
Horses competing in the Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain class cannot compete in Hack
and Riding Horse classes at the same show. This does not apply to SHB (GB) Riders Sports
Horse Classes.
The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Riders and Amateur rosette in each Open class and a
Champion rosette for each section.

RIHS Qualifying Classes
Classes 162 to 168 are qualifiers for the 2015 Royal International Horse Show, they
will be judged under 2015 Sport Horse of Great Britain Rules.
Only Horses Registered on the Show Hunter Register are eligible to enter. Registration
numbers must be quoted on entry forms and owners and riders must be members of
the society.
In the Lightweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight, Small and Ladies Hunter classes the
two highest placed horses in each class will qualify to enter the RIHS. No horse

Classes 178, 179, 180 AND 181
ONLY OPEN TO CHAPS(UK) MEMBERS) and REGISTERED HORSES/PONIES with a HORSE OF
THE YEAR SHOW COMPETITION NUMBER (this can be obtained from CHAPS (UK) Admin).
ALL STALLIONS must be graded with CHAPS (UK) I.D. CARDS TO BE CARRIED IN THE RING.

ENTRIES SENT WITHOUT A CURRENT Horse of the Year Show COMPETITION NUMBER BY
CLOSE OF ENTRIES, WILL BE RETURNED BY THE SHOW AS INELIGIBLE TO COMPETE.
Only one exhibit may qualify per class. If the 1st placed animal has already qualified, the qualifier may
pass down to the highest placed exhibit standing to 5th place, who has not already qualified.
No spurs to be worn when ridden by a Junior Member, or by any rider in the pony sections (Non-Native
not exc. 153cms, Native Cob, Traditional not exc 148cms)
All exhibits will require a height certificate to compete in the height restricted qualifying classes and to
obtain a Horse of the Year Show competition number (a photocopy should be sent to Chaps Admin, 1
McLaren Cottages, Abertysswg, Rhymney, Tredegar. NP22 5BH)
Horses/ponies are to be produced at Horse of the Year Show in the same type category in which they
qualified. AFF. NO. 14/017
Failure to comply with ANY of the Qualifying Rules will result in the forfeit of the qualifying place.
The “Pull in” or “no pull-in” system is at the discretion of the Judges on the day. If no pull is used,
competitors will be asked to line up in any order from the initial presentation.
Horse of the Year Show RULES WILL TAKE PRECEDENCE. Please ensure that you are fully aware

accordance with BSPS Rules.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY AND RULES
Classes 155-161 will be judged in accordance with British Show
Horse Association Rules.
Classes 162-168 will be judged in accordance with Sport Horse
of Great Britain Rules
Classes 170-177 will be Judged in accordance with the BSPS
Combined and Gold Cup Rule Book.
Classes 178-181 will be judged in accordance with Horse of the
Year Show Rules
Classes 182-185 will be judged in accordance with CHAPS Rules
All other classes will be judged in accordance with BSPS Rules
Rules.
Only tack or spurs that is permissible in the ring in BSPS classes is
allowed on the showground while mounted
Animals must be registered with the BSPS for 2015. Owners and
Riders must be current members of the BSPS to compete in all
classes except in classes 155 to 168 and 178 to 185
The Committee does not accept responsibility for any loss, damage
or injury to any person, animal or property at the Show. Exhibitors
are warned that property has been lost at Shows, and are therefore
advised to take every precaution and not leave property unattended
The Committee reserve the right to alter the times of the classes or
the Judges if necessary
Mounted exhibitors must adhere to horse walkways and riding
areas.
OBJECTIONS must be made in writing with the objector's full
name and address within 60 minutes of the completion of judging
and must be lodged at the Secretary's Office together with the sum
of £50 deposit. This sum will be returned if the objection is
sustained, but if the objection is not sustained the deposit will be
forfeited to the funds of the Winter Championships.
The Objection Committee will consist of Mrs. S. Thomas,
Mr. P. Hilton, Mr. A. Rothwell or any other official if applicable.
Any objection against a JMB Certificate must be lodged in
accordance with the current JMB Rules.
Any objection against the judging of a class or championship
must be referred to the BSPS in accordance with the Rules in the
2015 BSPS Rule and Show Hand Book.
Any pony taking part will be liable to Dope Testing.
No marks will be displayed until after the presentation of awards.
It is strongly recommended that all exhibitors carry Public
Liability Insurance for an adequate indemnity to protect against
their negligence.

WARNING!! Children, Motorcycles or Bicycles. Children MUST
NOT be allowed to play on the bales of straw. NO Motorcycles or
bicycles will be allowed to be ridden around the Showground or
stable area at any time. Bicycles or motorcycles may be
impounded for the duration of the Show.
STABLING Please fill in your stabling form correctly, this will
assist the Office and Stable Manager. Stabling will be available
from 8 am on Thursday, 2nd April 2015. Boxes cannot be booked
for exhibitors to sleep in. NO cooking or smoking permitted in the
stable areas. Stables in different names cannot be allocated next to
each other unless booked together at the same time.
Dress for Evening Performance. Riders must wear blue or black
coats with hunting ties, (stocks), correct riding hats and leather or
string gloves.
No buttonholes or earrings allowed.
SPURS are not permitted including the use of Spurs in collecting
rings, except for competitors 16 years and over competing in the
horse classes, and in the Exceeding 148cm Anglo and Part Bred
Arab class
HATS All competitors must wear hats in accordance with BSPS
Rules except for competitors in the Horse classes in the
Evening Performance and riders 16yrs old and over competing in
the Evening Performance in the BSPS Horse Championship.
All entries and stabling fees MUST be paid in full when entries are
made. NO entries will be accepted by telephone.
Incorrect entries will be refused. ANY CHEQUE that is not
honoured by the Bank will be returned to the exhibitor with their
entries, and these WILL NOT be accepted.
A £10 surcharge will be charged for stables cancelled prior to the
closing date of entries.
NO entry fee will be refunded NO REFUNDS on stables
cancelled after the closing date of entries.
22.
LATE QUALIFICATION
Any pony that qualifies after the closing date 16 th March 2015 must
enter within 24hrs of qualifying. Entries for ponies that qualify on
29th March 2015, MUST be sent by email on later that 30th March
2015. The last date for qualifying for the Winter Championships
Show is 29th March 2015.
WARNING in the interest of other exhibitors, please refrain from
playing loud or amplified music or making excessive noise on the
showground after 11 pm

OR DISCIPLINARY ACTION MAY BE TAKEN.

THIS SHOW IS RUN WITH DUE REGARD TO HEALTH AND
SAFETY. THE PERSONS RESPONSIBLE ON THE DAY WILL BE
MRS. P. MONAGHAN AND MR A. ROTHWELL WE REQUEST
THAT ALL EXHIBITORS AND MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC
COMPLY WITH ANY REQUEST ANY VERBAL OR WRITTEN
FROM SHOW OFFICIALS WHICH PERTAIN TO THESE
REGULATIONS IN THEIR OWN BEST INTERESTS. DETAILED
GUIDE LINES CAN BE SEEN AT THE SECRETARY'S OFFICE AND
/OR ON NOTICES AROUND THE SHOW GROUND. ANY
ACCIDENT SHOULD BE REPORTED TO A SHOW OFFICIAL
IMMEDIATELY. REGULATIONS WITH REGARD TO THE RIDING
OR DRIVING OF HORSES AND PONIES, MOTORISED VEHICLES
AND BICYCLES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED IN THE
INTEREST OF ALL CONCERNED.
23.
CANCELLATION
The BSPS shall be entitled to cancel the Winter Championships Show.
1)
upon the serving of notice to the entrant of such cancellation, not less than 48
hours prior to the Winter Championships Show: or
2)
an Event of Force Majeure occurs
For the purpose of this clause, “Event of Force Majeure” means an act of God
including but not limited to fire, flood, earthquake, windstorm or other natural disaster,
act of any sovereign including but not limited to war, invasion, act of foreign enemies,
hostilities (whether war be declared or not) civil war, rebellion, revolution,
insurrection, military or usurped power or confiscation, nationalisation, requisition,
destruction or damage to property by or under the order of any government or public or
local authority or imposition of government sanction embargo or similar action; law,
judgement, order, decree, embargo, blockade, labour dispute including but not limited
to strike, lockout or boycott; interruption or failure of utility service including but not
limited to electric power, gas, water or telephone service; failure of the transportation
of any personnel equipment, machinery supply or material required by BSPS for the
provision of show services breach of contract by any essential personnel; any other
matter or cause beyond the control of BSPS.
Upon the cancellation of the Winter Championships Show, BSPS shall return all
Winter Championship Show entry fees to the entrants, however in certain
circumstances the Society reserve the right to retain a fair percentage of the fees when
the Society has incurred expenses.
BSPS shall not be liable to the show entrants in contract, tort, negligence, breach of
statutory duty or otherwise for any loss, damage, costs or expenses of any nature
whatsoever incurred or suffered by the show entrants of an indirect or consequential
nature including without limitation any economic loss or other loss of turnover, profits,
business or goodwill.
Any notice served in accordance with this clause shall be in writing and shall be
deemed to have been duly given if left at or sent by post or telex or facsimile to the
entrant at the address or relevant telecommunications number for such entrant or such
other address as the entrant may from time to time designate.

A table top sale has been arranged for
the Friday evening, 3rd April 2015
from 6.30 pm
to raise funds for the
International WHP Team Competition
to be held at the
BSPS Summer Championships 2015.
The cost of the table will be £10 with
entries or £20 on the night.
Please bring all your unused tack and
clothing and support the event.
