Current Employment:
Consultant Psychiatrist in Private Practice since May 2002.
I have been approved under Section 12 of The Mental Health Act 1983 as having special
expertise in diagnosis of mental illness since 1987. I have been an elected member of
the Welsh Division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Executive Committee and the
College’s Deputy Regional Advisor for Continuing Professional Development in Wales –
(1990-95). I have represented the Welsh Division on the General Adult Faculty
Executive Committee of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and upon the N.A.F.W.
Strategic Implementation Group.
Other Positions:
Medical Member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal in Wales – Appointed 1994.

I examined a number of the lead cases in the service veteran’s suit against the MOD on
behalf of the Treasury Solicitor 2002/3.
Publications:
I am the sole author of one book on psychiatric practice and of over 40 peer reviewed
papers mainly in the areas of psychiatric problems associated with medical disease and
post traumatic distress disorder.
