Mr Recorder Cullum commended him at Winchester Crown Court for acting with enormous courage and putting others before his own safety. PS 5551 Wayne VOLLER ‘PM’ Cosham RPU Commended by the Chief Constable for attending an incident where a violent male who was in possession of a knife, locked himself in the kitchen of his first floor flat and turned on the gas taps. You displayed outstanding negotiation skills, professionalism and bravery in a stressful situation. Your actions meant that the male turned the gas off and together with PS ROGER you entered the building and arrested him. You are a credit to Hampshire Constabulary. PC 1316 Christopher ROGERS ‘PN’ Cosham Commended by the Chief Constable for attending an incident where a violent male, who was in possession of a knife, locked himself in the kitchen of his first floor flat and turned on the gas taps. You displayed outstanding negotiations skills, professionalism 1 and bravery in a stressful situation. Following PS VOLLERS further negotiations you and he entered the building and arrested the male. You are a credit to Hampshire Constabulary. SC 9636 Dennis JARRETT ‘JW’ Waterlooville Commended by the Chief Constable for attending an incident where a violent male, who was in possession of a knife, locked himself in the kitchen of his first floor flat and turned on the gas taps. You responded professionally to instructions in a stressful situation, successfully evacuated the block of flats and contacted FSU. You are a credit to Hampshire Constabulary. PC 1139 Anthony Graham ADKINS ‘LN’ Newport PC 21042 Alexander Peter COYNE ‘LN’ Newport Commended by the Chief Constable for professionalism and courage at the scene of a house fire where persons were reported as missing. At great risk and personal danger to yourselves you gained access to the building, and through thick smoke rescued an elderly male from inside the address, the man being subsequently removed to a place of safety and later treated in hospital. PC 933 Jayne WALKER ‘PS’ Southsea PC 3156 Matthew CUMMING ‘PS’ Southsea Commended by the Chief Constable for their act of bravery and putting the life of others first by entering a potentially dangerous incident. If it had not been spotted when it was, it could have resulted in the lives of the occupants within the house as well as the potential danger of the fire spreading to other residences in the street. PC 700 Wendy Carole RUDD ‘SC’ Southampton Central PC 22987 Paul Christopher WREN ‘SC’ Southampton Central PC 20322 Gavin John WILLIAMS ‘SC’ Southampton Central PC 3337 Sheila Christina O’CONNELL ‘SC’ Southampton Central Commended by the Chief Constable for an exceptional piece of police work and an outstanding response to an armed robbery at a jewellery shop. The sheer courage, commitment and professionalism shown led to the arrest and subsequent charging of two suspects, the recovery of weapons, including a handgun, and all the property valued in excess of £250,000. PC 1046 Christopher David POWLING ‘PN’ Cosham Commended by the Chief Constable for his dedication to duty and bravery in entering a violent and dangerous situation whilst un-protected and alone. PC 23695 Neal SKINNER ‘JW’ Waterlooville Commended by the Chief Constable for his professionalism and bravery when dealing with a male who tried to take his own life. 3.
