Native Americans Project – Due October 23, 2009
Choose a Native American tribe to gather additional information about and to present to
the class. You will be responsible for planning your work on this project outside of the
class. You are to develop a Point presentation to present pertinent information about
your chosen tribe. Each slide of the presentation must include one picture as well as the
information described below:
Slide 1 – Name of Native American tribe; Student’s Name and Date
Slide 2 – Region/Environment
 Students must name the region that the tribe settled in based on the seven cultural
regions studied in History Alive textbook.
 Students will provide description of region where tribe settled along with special
geographic characteristics of the region.
 Students will include information on how their chosen tribe adapted to their new
environment.
Slide 3 – Culture:
 Students will describe special cultural aspects of interest. This includes religious
practices, dietary issue, customs and means of survival.
Slide 4 – Tribe in Present Day:
 Students will provide information on descendants of the tribe in the present day.
This can include information about those who have remained in the region and
those who may have migrated to different regions.
 Group will include information on the affects of European colonization on their
tribe.
Slide 5 – Interesting Facts:
 Students should provide any additional information that caught their interest
during their research process. This should be something outside of the
information required in the other slides.
Slide 6 – Bibliography
 Students must provide documentation for information used in research. This must
includes books, encyclopedias, atlas, almanac, and websites as sources.
Information should be gathered from a variety of sources.
