WELCOME HOME! It has been an incredible three days of celebration and I would like to thank my brother priests, our sisters and all the staff at Cathedral House and all who have worked so hard for the Reopening of our Cathedral. Since the doors opened on Tuesday the Cathedral has been visited by so many people and they have all been very moved and impressed at the beauty of the church – we are all greatly blessed to be part of the life of St. Anne’s Cathedral at this time. MGR. CANON PETER MCGUIRE, ProtAp: Today we welcome Mgr. McGuire back to the Cathedral where he served as Curate, Administrator and Dean for 27 years of his priestly ministry. This Sunday, 19th November, Mgr. McGuire will be the Celebrant & Preacher at the Solemn Mass at 11.00 a.m. There will be a reception in Cathedral Hall after Mass and everyone is welcome to attend. THURSDAY LUNCHTIME CONCERT: This week’s concert (23rd November), at 1.10 p.m. will be Music for St. Cecilia given by the Leeds University Liturgical Choir. JOURNEY IN FAITH PROGRAMME: for those who are considering reception into the Catholic Church will begin on Monday, 20th November at 6.00 p.m. in Cathedral Hall. All are welcome to attend. THE CATHEDRAL hopes to appoint a part-time secretary to work with the Cathedral clergy and administration staff. This will be a varied job which involves dealing with telephone enquiries; meeting some of the many visitors to the Cathedral; preparing various liturgical booklets throughout the year and day to day administration. The post requires someone who has a friendly and open manner when dealing with people but always discreet and respecting the confidential aspects of the work. A basic knowledge of the faith and life of the Catholic Church is also essential. Applicants should write to the Cathedral Dean at Cathedral House, Great George Street, Leeds.
