Shamanism Death and the Role of the Physician

Human relationships that are established with plants, directly represents their
natural course of life, growing, expanding, changing, and birthing. This natural
relationship, if established can sheds great light on the affiliation that is
possible with the plants, and the ability to create a valid belief as to the
understanding of persona, nature, and that of the cosmic worlds that are so
abound. What is it about the way in which humans interact with nature?
Expansion, learning, experimenting, and creating is the process in which
humans have been co-interacting with the natural world from time immemorial.
The teachings however abundant and copious they may be are all interwoven,
these different roads that are traveled lead to one destination, to integrate a full
union with the divine essence, A practitioner must be completely aware of the
universal source and implement directly in the life that is being lived.. What is
a Plant teacher? Is the teacher in the plant or is the teacher in you? Where does
the information come from, and where does it go? A teaching is a force that
implements a creative break through into achieving a goal that is desired, the
results are discovered by the experiences that ensue. Plants can give people
experiences that can accelerate their capacity to understand greater aspects
about themselves, about the environment, and others. Knowledge of all kinds is
encapsulated within every life giving, and death giving system on this planet,
and in the cosmos at large. The tricky part of enlightenment is being able to
unlock the knowledge within the life time that is being lived.
Culture has the capabilities and inertia to fully exist in this space and time
continuum, the primary reason this cultural existence is able to take place rest
fully upon the evolutionary space-warp that the human species has created.
The cultural and evolutionary status qoue of what is happening with the way
humans are interacting with the planet is directly linked to the organizational
method of cultivating, gathering, and using plants. A few authors are now
starting to pick up on the evidence, as is said by Flattery and Schwartz(9), and
T. McKenna saying “ My contention is that mutation-causing, psychoactive
chemical compounds in the early human diet directly influenced the rapid
reorganization of the brain’s information-processing capacities. Alkaloids in
plants, specifically the hallucinogenic compounds such as psilocybin, DMT,
and harmaline, could be the chemical factors in the proto-human diet that
catalyzed the emergence of human self reflection. The action of these
alkaloidal compounds present in many common plants enhanced our
informational processing activity, or environmental sensitivity, and thus
contributed to the sudden expansion of the human brain size. At a latter stage
in this process, entheogenic plants acted as catalysts in the development of
imagination, fueling the creation of internal stratagems and hopes that may well
have synergized the emergence of language and religion (7-24)”. This human
plant co-evolution is also elaborated upon by Ananda Bosman. Indicating, the
beta-carbolines and tryptamine molecules are now encoded permanently within
our nervous system, and endocrine system. “DMT, Melatonin and Pinoline
(6meoTHBC)-(which a healthy brain produces internally), are among the
highest of the neurotransmitters, which the brain knows how to metabolize
within 30 seconds, making them thus the most familiar chemicals relating to
neuroanatomic laws(10)”! As the evidence for the information continues to
grow, our understanding and memory will continue to improve and we as a
collective unity will begin to have a realization as to the importance of our
relationship with plants and that of nature. This understanding will shoot out
into cosmic perspectives, implying the importance of the seasons, planets and
the stars. From hunter and gatherer, to agricultural surplus systems, to
synthetically produced supplemental drug based systems; humans have very
heavily mirrored or copied- in some way or another- what plants are doing, and
how they are interacting with nature. Why in this time period have we lost
sight of the true meaning of nature, and how it feels to be open to, and to be an
integral part of the whole system-The Gaia-Net?
At this point in time, the human race is the most alienated creature on the
planet. There is a unbelievable amount of suffering, a refutable amount of war,
a ridiculous system of living (Concrete, synthetic rubber, toxic paint, electricity
that is wasteful, radio active weapons, business suites, people that cause
violence, people suffering from dementia, main stream allopathic medicine
whose main goal is to work with the pharmacy companies whom are under the
philosophy of, why would we want to make the divine ambrosia of life? For
then all would be cured and the rivers of riches would stop flowing), this list of
negative things goes on and on and, the ignorance is but a natural process of
understanding.
Many of us today, are beginning to wake up and smell the fresh scent of the
flowers which are stimulating the archaic intuition that is lingering deep within
all beings. I feel that dedicated people need to join together to shake out this
sick and demented cultural imperialist globalization that is occurring, by using
intuitive knowledge and going directly to the source of the problem, By finding
the roots of a particular problem we can discover how to exterminate useless
pursuits and situations. The process of purification and reformation gives space
to develop and new cosmology of relating to the natural world which surrounds
us. Skolimowski gives insight in to structural reformatting: The new
cosmology must reflect the realization that the fate of the earth is now
intimately intertwined with the fate of the human species. We are the universe
and the universe is us!
 Evolution is a continuum of creative becoming, and humans are the result of
this process as well as its facilitator.
 With our creative evolution of mind, we are the reflection and participants
of a greater universal whole. We are the being conscious of it- self.
 Humans are but one manifestation of an implicate universal order; all parts
of this order interpenetrate one another. They are holistically co-dependent,
we are all related.
 Hope for human meaning and destiny underpin the motivation for human
attempts to realize themselves and to affirm a future with compassion,
courage, solidarity, and action.
 We continue to engender and cultivate reverence for life as a way of action
and to acknowledge the beauty of life and the miracle of which it is an
expression
 In understanding the evolution and application of ecological ethics we leave
all living things, taking responsibility for our relationship to the earth, for
doing more with less and for pursuing wisdom and self actualization rather
than all consuming materialism” (3-notes).
Basing the framework of actions off of the health of the planet and the health of
the people is a fore sure way to make positive results in this world.
The use of plant teachers will be the guide to reprogramming this pain that is
being experienced by many. This is one of my personal goals and practices of
life, to keep listening to my natural instinct and learning from the ancestors of
the land, the plants, and the spiritual forces that linger in all space and times.
The plant medicine can be a force that shakes a person out of their every day
normal perception, allowing time to get insight into how to heal their mind,
body and spirit. Why would you want to heal your mind, body, and spirit?
How do you know it needs healing? If you are healed, what do you do with
yourself? A true healer is a person that has gone through intense training and
has confidently healed themselves, when this is done they are able to pass on
their knowledge and power to guide others in the direction of correcting
imbalances. The vegetable world is one of the elements in this process that
provide extreme transformation and clarity to the healing process.
My personal relationship with the plants are that they control my life, many of
the decisions that I have made over the last three years have been around
finding new plants, working in agriculture, and experimenting with plants that
take a person into extra sensory perception. From the food that is eaten to the
medicine that is taken, we must be conscious that the plants are a very
subjective force; they provide the vehicle which allows a connection with the
higher levels of existence and beyond. They come from the earth, the heaviest
element, that holds what is known as solidity in place. Relationships with
plants can serves as a vehicle that will raise the consciousness of the human
race to create a community which has a social responsibility to act from the true
heart of nature. The way in which I am going about this is in small and
responsible strides, an old Chinese proverb states ‘Those things which are small
create the foundation for enormous change to occur”. This ancient wisdom is
intoned to the harmony that can be depicted by the triangle of time; as an above
so below. We all have a responsibility to integrate a transformation; the
impermanence of this reality is doubtless. The transformation that is needed is
in the external world, raising the positivism of the planetary process, reassuring
the mother that all is well and comforting her. We all must accept death, for
this is the truth to life, this is what the plants teach, easy come easy go, the river
cannot be pushed against the current.
“The line A D represents the gradual obscuration of spirit as it passes into
concrete matter; the point D indicates the evolutionary position of the mineral
kingdom from its incipient (d) to its ultimate concretion (a); a, b, c, in the left
hand side of the figure are the three states of elemental evolution; i.e., the three
successive states passed by the spiritual impulse (through the elementals-of
which little is permitted to be said) before they are imprisoned into the most
concrete form of matter; and c, b, a, in the right hand side, are the three states
of organic life, vegetable, animal, human. What is total obscuration of spirit is
complete perfection of its polar antithesis-matter; and this idea is conveyed in
the lines A D and D A. The arrows show the line of travel of the evolutionary
impulse in entering its vortex and expanding again into the subjectivity of the
ABSOLUTE. The central thickest line d d is- the MINERAL KINGDOM” (4174). This simple diagram gives an exposition as to the general flux and flow
of gross matter into subtle energy within the evolutionary frame work of this
reality. This monadic philosophy is based off indivisible indestructible
elements, some what related to the law of thermal dynamics that energy can
neither be created nor destroyed, and that this monadic micro-macrocosmic
relationship presents the same consistency throughout the cycles of life forms,
spirit forms, and cosmic forms, yet differs in as much as to the scale of the
progression unto which the particular manifestation of subtlety it is trailing.
Through the process of evolution the human intellect has begun to learn that
there is a “manifest progress in the succession of beings on the surface of the
earth. This progress consists in an increasing similarity to the living fauna, and
among the vertebrates, especially, in their increasing resemblance to
human……. The human is the end towards which all the animal creation has
tended” (5), and the human is the vehicle into which to renascent into spirit,
entering the dissipation of form, and becoming the unity of all things.
Understanding how the mind, body, and spirit function together brings light as
to the importance that the human race holds to the health of the planet, culture,
and civilizations at large.
The human experience is the pinnacle of novelty, never before has this
occurred. As the decision of life become more pressing, a dire needs to
develop systems that bring forth a harmonious relationship with nature. The
truth of nature is a fact that stands alone hidden in the mist for the pure and the
holy hones to dwell in. The nature is brought forth by you, indeed the external
world holds clues to this mystery, but the mind is that which can help one attain
the realization of such a sacred force. Nature is sacred; it has a soul and the
human can join, and find union with the soul of nature at any given time. In
union with nature provides a reality which is conductive to healing a gaining
perfection.
The process of healing can shed light on to the death of being and to the
emotional states that we create towards the death of being. Anxiety of death is
so prevalent in this culture that many people go through there daily habitual
patterns completely ignorant of the present state of well being, dieing in every
moment of there existence. This so called earth is one of the basic frame works
of healing. For an example, the Hindus have a certain religious practice that
involves the idea of a seed. Seeds are very interesting, if preserved and
processed in the right manner, you can keep the seed alive through the process
of sowing and reaping, this only happens when the environmental conditions
stay right for the cultivation of the seed. The Hindus have a ritual that is some
what from the under world. It consists of sifting through the seeds that grow
inside, and all around, and weeding out the seeds that are negative and causing
bondage and suffering. Once these seeds are weeded out they are gathered
together and burnt to ash with this being done, they no longer have the
capability of sprouting.
This is the exact concept of death and life; being able to come into a new
sphere of existence. Great denial can consume the life that is being lived, if we
are not aware of the way the mind, body, and spirit act within the accordance of
nature. General awareness is a critical step in understanding how to process
reality in an environmental and holistic way. As the thumb of modern day
priest hood is pressing down, with considerable force, and destroying the world
around us, pointing to an even more urgent need to integrate what is nature in
to the life and to actualize and follow trough with a positive up keep of all the
bodies that are available in this reality of existence. The layer of the bodies
correspond to the elemental forces which are in harmony with the way of
nature, out lined as followed:
The universe has a macro-micro existence that
encompasses the all. The foundational measurements, in which this
investigation is peregrinating into, are based on the healing of the past, and the
sustenance of the environmental condition that we are all part of. The
philosophy that is followed is that which is focused upon the process of
cultivating a natural life based around the systems the universe has presented to
the human race. The ethical considerations that are to be made must be on an
individual level, this is based on experiential modes of actions and reactions.
For the eradication of all the impurities, one must be inspired from the innercore of their being to attain purity in all aspects of life. Because this science is
a reflection of all the natural processes which are taking place, which have all
ready taken place, and those which are going to be taking place; we must look
to nature to solve our biggest problems and questions.
Breaking this science into a practicality can be summed up by Know Thyself.
There are many different ways of understanding the true nature of your being,
all the different methods which truly allow liberation and freedom to occur, are
based on experiencing pleasure and pain, while not reacting to it but accepting
it as it is. Tuning into the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that are manifesting
in every given moment leads one into a space that is more acceptable. In order
to attain a high degree of mastery over the mind, body, and spirit one must have
perseverance, patience, and the ability to work independently while integrating
wisely. There are no short cuts on this path; it works within the cycles of time,
space, and energy. This path is replenishing to the essential vitality of the
physical, spiritual, and cosmic energies. The ancient old tradition is essential
factor in this science; you reap what has been sown; this holds true by
manifesting itself clearly in the outer and inner worlds of reality. This is a
basic law of continuity that must be acted upon on a daily level, so that
experiential wisdom can manifest itself, creating a balanced and sustaining life
force that produces positive vibrations within the environment that we are all
part of.
Laying the frame work for the systems that are going to be constructed is of
much importance. All that is around you is a product of yourself in action.
This action that is put into you, and the action that you put into the world
around you, plays a great importance in forming who you are to be in the
present moment of life. The whole entire being of a human organism can be
broken down into five fundamental layers. These five layers of the human
organism as a whole consist of:
1) The layer of the physical body which is nourished by food, drink, and
oxygen.
2) The layer of the body which sustains the life force.
3) The layer of the body which is responsible for Psychic activities.
4) The layer of the body that is responsible of all intellectual activities.
5) The layer of the body that is responsible for all spiritual activities.
The development of these five layers of the body is your whole being in action,
these five layer are in continues action throughout your entire life span; there
truly is no way to escaping this phenomenon of nature that all living life forms
have been born into. These five layers, if cultivated a certain way, can put forth
a supreme force of love and positivism that will create a beneficial change for
the environment, and one for the internal system which comprises you. The
development of these five layers of the body is like anything else with various
factors; they can be broken down systematically to form a conceptual outline.
The actual reality of these five layers is that they are always happening
together, co-joining, mixing, and creating as many situational circumstances as
there are people on this planet. Have wise action and chose diligently!
Giving guidelines on how to act and cultivated the five layers of the human
body are the five layers of understanding that are guided by our self and give
awareness as to why one has a character, and why one who they happened to
be. Our whole being is also governed by the five layers of understanding. This
understanding allows us to function on a day to day level and gives us the
ability to cling to and reject things in life. The five layers consist of:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
-True Perceptions
-False Perceptions
-Hallucinations or Imagination
-Sleep
-Memory
These governing factors will give one insight into how to cultivate the five
Layers of the body for a balanced internal and external worldly live.
As humans have moved through time and space they have dedicated
time to investigating the elemental forces that are penetrating and giving life to
all things in this reality. The way in which perception flows through of senses
and in to our mind is what determines what we are ignorant of and what type of
awareness that is had. “We perceive and object when different kinds of
vibrations which emanate from it strike our sense-organs and the mind is then
joined to the sense-organ thus activated. As a matter of fact, from the
physiological and psychological points of view there are many stages
intervening between the reception of the vibration by the sense organ and the
perception by the mind but let us, for the sake of simplicity confine ourselves to
the simple representation of the mechanism of sense-perception as generally
understood. The may be represented diagrammatically as follows” (1-269):

These elemental forces are very alive within the systems of the universe and the
internal systems of an individual being. What we do with these systems is up
to the karma in which one possess. Many people are suffering and many
people are enjoying a pleasant life. The great distinction is to decide, what is
your trash, and what is your treasure? We all have the ability to make a choice
as to the way that we are going to act towards others and to the environment
which surrounds us and how in turn this affects the future of the entire cosmos.
Shamanism Death and the Role of the Physician
The role of a healer, physician, and shaman is a need in civilizations at large.
The shaman seems to be the most archaic of all these professions. The people
whom practice this art go through a profound metaphysical experience, “having
a heightened capacity to appreciate, resonate, and attend to the cosmological
enigmas that define the human condition, while having a exceptional awareness
of the metaphysical, ontological, and epistemological mysteries that have been
a perennial concern for people since the begging of times” (6-503). The states
that are achieved by these masters are one of a profound proclamation to the
society about the present condition, and how to take the reins and follow the
heart in a pure way. The shaman is a master of gaining access into different
worlds; sometimes these worlds contain the ancestor spirits, the ultraterestial
light beings of the future, and animal life forms that convey wisdom and
knowledge. With the ability to make these bewildering connections, the
shaman lives a life outside of normality, gaining power for the greater good of
all life forms on this planet and the universe at large.
Shamanism is a universal practices among all people of the world, giving direct
evidence that part of human culture and the nature of human interaction is to
manifest a force, to a select few, that is tending and guiding the general mass
towards a force that is in the profane and sacred, which relives in burdens that
hang around the necks so heavily of those whom are suffering. “Eliade shows
that, while the particular motifs may vary between cultures and even
individuals, shamanism’s general structure is clear: the neophyte shaman
undergoes a symbolic death and resurrection, which is understood as a radical
transformation into a superhuman condition. Henceforth, the shaman has
access to the superhuman plane, is a master of ecstasy, can travel in the spirit
realm at will, and most important, can cure and divine. As is noted in the
Invisible Landscape, In short, the shaman is transformed from a profane into a
sacred state of being. Not only has he effected his own cure through this
mystical transmutation, he is now invested with the power of the sacred, and
hence can cure others as well. It is of the first order of importance to remember
this that the shaman is more that merely a sick man, or a madman; he is a sick
man who has healed himself, who is cured, and who must shamanize in order to
remain cured” (7-5). These super human feats the shaman is able to perform,
has formed the guidelines for medicine to this day! Even though certain
archaic aspects may have possibly been lost, or locked somewhere deep within
our intuition, their contribution to human evolution at large, has been abundant,
and will continue to influence the relationship that human beings have with
themselves and the world that abounds.
One of the basic fundamental laws in being able to implement a healing force
to others in this world is that, the particular person whom is generating healing
energy has to have fully healed themselves, and continually correct any
imbalances that occur, to be able to safely spread their healing powers to cure
other peoples imbalances. The general goal that is to be had is that of
Isonomia, mastering the perfect harmony of all the substances that compose the
5 layers of the human body and distributing this skill for the greater good of all
humanity. Diseases and imbalances that occur within a human organism is an
expression of a disturbance of the harmony of perfect health. This is a natural
process; the symptoms of the disease are the reaction of the body to the disease.
The chief function of the physician is to aid the natural forces of the body. For
extreme diseases extreme strictness of treatment is most effective. The role of
a healer is now outlining: The physician, who is at the same time a philosopher
is like the gods. There is not a great difference between medicine and
philosophy, because all the qualities of a good philosopher should also be
found in the physician-altruism, zeal, modesty, a dignified appearance,
seriousness, tranquil judgement, serenity, decisions, purity of life, the habit of
brevity, knowledge of what is useful and necessary in life, reprobation of evil,
no suspicion, and devotion to the divinity. The physician is but a servant of
nature, and that if nature resists, all measure are in vain”. Yet to be continued
