Endocrine Expectations
Contact on call attending/fellow at pager 9700716. They will tell you which clinic to
report to and provide you with the monthly schedule.
CLINIC/WARD REQUIREMENTS:
You will be expected to attend either a clinic and/or ward consultation service every
Monday through Friday. There is a clinic every day of the week. Expect to a minimum of
2 endocrine and one diabetes clinic per week. You should also expect to a minimum of 3
consults per week of service. Everyone’s experience will vary somewhat above and
beyond that.
REQUIRED CONFERENCES:
Monday: 2pm to 4pm Endocrine clinical conference at Lenox Baker 1st floor conf. room.
5pm Endocrine Grand Rounds Barrus conference room Duke South.
PRESENTATION:
Everyone on the rotation for MORE than 2 weeks is expected to give a presentation on
their last Monday on the rotation at our clinical conference. It should be the results of a
literature review based on an interesting patient encountered on the rotation or a other
topic of interest to the resident. It should focus on answering a clinical question. It should
be 15 to 20 minutes in duration.
Those residents on the rotation for LESS than 2 weeks are expected to find an article on a
topic of interest and give a basic journal club.
Residents should inform their attending and fellow when they will be giving their talk.
