Winter 2012 Final Exams
The final exams for all daytime and night sections of the above courses will be given from 8:0010:45 AM on April 20. Rooms and proctors for these exams are given below. You may be
scheduled to proctor an exam in a course you are not teaching. (Graduate teaching assistants not
teaching a course are also asked to help in proctoring the final exams.) You may want to consider
making two versions of the exams as it is impossible to find rooms large enough for the students to
sit only in every other seat.
Remember that final exams are graded in common, with each person grading all the exams for a
subset of questions. After the term totals for each student are calculated, the group meets to decide
on a grading scale. In some cases it may be necessary to add differential numbers of points to
account for inequalities in test or quiz difficulty among the sections. In determining the final
grading scale the group should be cognizant of success rates in past semesters, as well as
departmental and university goals. Note that grades may not be posted.
Please inform the students in your classes of the time and location of their exam as well as the fact
that they must bring Ids to the final exam. A copy of this schedule will be posted outside the math
office on the day of the exam in case students forget (or fail to find out) where to go.
