Hi guys, I'm Rebel. Hi guys, I'm Pardeep. Hi guys, I'm Doris. And I'm Georgia. And we are Griffith Business School student leaders for the Nathan campus. If you see us around, this is how you recognise us. We're just here to give you a few tips about orientation and uni life. The first thing you need to know is that orientation is super important. So turn up! Especially to the Griffith Business School orientation. During this week all the campuses come alive with fun activities, we take you around campus, free food and drinks, but most importantly we attend the info sessions. These sessions give you all the information you need to know about your degree, your course, your campus and the next couple of years you'll be spending with us. So check out the Griffith website just a couple of days before so you know where you're going. We don't want you lost. So turn up, have some fun and meet us. But for now, here are some uni tips! For everyone studying first year business class at Nathan you will need to know where it is. It's N22: Northern Theatres. It's one of the largest theatres on campus. It seats up to 400 students. Don't understand these 400 students as strangers but understand them as your potential friends. I'm here at the Gold Coast campus student centre. Now this is the place to get your I.D. card sorted, you've got a bulk-billing medical centre downstairs, foreign exchange office and pretty much any information that you need. Now, across the street is the library and this is a place to get your tech issues sorted, borrow any books and a quiet place to study. Just make sure to make yourself familiar with these buildings as you'll be using them a whole lot while you're here at Griffith. Here is another important building for domestic students and international students. It basically includes the library, student administration and the international office. Here is a ticket machine for you. You should grab a ticket first and go for the counter and get all your questions solved. And down, it has a cashier place where you can pay all your fees such as tuition fees, parking fees and so on. Things like student email, lecture notes, contacts details for tutors and lecturers and all the help you could ever want is available by logging into the Griffith Portal. While we're on the subject of online help, we know that enrolling can be difficult. Try using the step-by-step enrolment help online. If you do get stuck, don't worry. There are plenty of people to speak to at orientation about enrolling. Welcome to the Griffith book shop. Here you'll find all the textbooks needed for your courses. Go to your course profile to find the textbooks that you need. If you join the Student Guild on the Gold Coast you'll find that you get heaps of discounts on textbooks and if go to the Nathan bookshop and join up there you'll find that you get discounts on all the books as well. In week two there's a textbook fair where you can buy and sell secondhand textbooks. So make sure you keep them in great condition and head down to the textbook fair in week two to grab yourself a bargain. If you ever find yourself lost on campus there are lots of ways to help find your way. Maps like these are located all over the place and are a great reference point. There is also a Griffith app which you can download for your smartphone which has great info and maps for every campus. If you're still having trouble, familiarise yourself with the Griffith security office. Our friendly security staff will be more than happy to help you out. Please remember, Griffith University takes the wellbeing and security of our community very seriously. There is also a security escort service every thirty minutes. Something to keep in mind when you finish classes late. Remember guys, it's also a good idea to have some fun while you're studying. And, if you're coming in for that eight a.m. lecture you might want to swing by the coffee bug to get that caffeine fix before hand. So go the uni-bar, have a game of pool or even just go to the lolly shop. Remember the university is a really fun place to just come and hang out. Just a few final tips from us. Make sure you take advantage of our awesome Facebook pages, especially the Griffith Business School Facebook page where you can stay updated will all the latest information and chat to is as much as you like. Remember guys, the best thing about university is the huge variety of people you get to meet so just come in and get involved. University can be the best time in your life. Just remember keep a balance and take advantage of all the opportunities we and Griffith offer. So at Griffith's orientation week, remember to come say hey to Naomi, Ravi, Ana and myself, Andrew, and remember to eat, sleep and get amongst the business and we'll see you there!
