WILDNIGHT AT THE CHEYENNE MOUNTIAN ZOO
March 7 - 8, 2014
1.
Arrival and Pick-up: We will meet at the church at 4:45 pm to pack up and leave promptly at 5:00 pm. If you need to
meet us at the zoo, we will meet you at 6:00 p.m in the parking lot at the entrance of the zoo. Please let Linda Buesing
know if you will not be coming to the church first.
2.
Cost: $35.25 per person for a group of 20 or more or $45.25 per person for groups of 10 -19.
 Sign-up for this event is attached and must be returned to Linda Buesing by February 20, 2014.
 All youth and adults must submit the attached waiver to Linda Buesing with their payment on or before March 2.
If the zoo does not have the waiver form by the night of attendance they will reserve the right to turn away that
participant.
 If you have not filled out a Church Registration form for this year please fill one out and return it to Linda
Buesing by February 20, 2014. .
3.
Clothing: Dress comfortably and anticipate time walking outdoors between zoo buildings. A waterproof jacket and
sweater/sweatshirt are recommended. Tennis shoes will be suitable for all activities unless there is inclement weather.
PLEASE DRESS FOR THE WEATHER – programs will not be cancelled due to weather issues!

Pillow
Toiletries
Change of Clothes
Jacket (weather appropriate)
Good Walking Shoes
Snacks for yourself
Flashlight (Adults only)
No Electronics except cell phone
Remember: The park requires that you pack only what you can carry (we will make only 1 trip from the parking
lot).

Adults only: There are fold-out cots for only $5:00. Please bring exact change. Money is due at the beginning of the
evening. Please let Linda Buesing know ahead of time if you want to reserve one.
6.
Cookout/Breakfast: As a part of the registration fees, the zoo will provide each participant with a cookout of hotdogs,,
salad and chips and s’mores , as well as a continental breakfast. You may bring additional snacks for yourself .
7.
Health and Safety: This is the foremost consideration for all evening programs. Participants will be given the program
rules upon arrival and are expected to follow these rules during their entire stay at the zoo. For everyone’s safety, the zoo
reserves the right to end the program for the individual/group if rules are not respected. We are representing our church
and we should always be courteous, and respect all participants. The leaders of the zoo are First-Aid and CPR certified and
carry a first-aid kit during the tour. Linda Buesing is also certified. Zoo personnel are prepared for a quick response
should an emergency arise. No alcohol is allowed in the Zoo for WildNights programs. In the case of an emergency our
group can be contacted via cell phone during the tour from 6 p.m. Friday evening to 8 a.m. the following morning at (719425/6484)
8.
Special Needs: Please let Linda Buesing know if there is anyone with a special need. An example is if someone has a
dietary need that we need to let the zoo keeper know about beforehand.

The program starts promptly at 6:00 pm and all participants must arrive on time. Once our group enters the zoo with all
our equipment, no one is allowed in or out until 8:00 am the following morning when the program is complete. FOR THE
ENJOYMENT OF THE PROGRAM, NO LATE ARRIVALS OR DEPARTURES WILL BE ALLOWED.
10. Departure: We will leave at 11:00 am . We have tickets for an all day stay. If participants want to stay longer; they will
need adult supervision and their own transportation.
11. Cancellations: Linda Buesing has made the payment to the zoo.. There are no refunds for cancelled participants after that
time.
12. T-Shirts & Patches: Cool WildNight t-shirts will be available to participants. These short-sleeved shirts come in both
children’s and adult’s sizes. T-Shirts may be purchased during your WildNight with exact change of $15.00 (cash or check
only) Their new WildNight patches will also be available for $5.00 each or $3.00 when you buy a T-Shirt – Great for
scout troops
13. If there are Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts who need a specific focus, let Linda Buesing know.
14. Schedule
6:00 pm Arrive at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Your guide will meet you at the front gate
6:15 pm Cookout
7:00 pm Evening Tour – You will visit areas that are most interesting to see at night! You will also feed the giraffes
and touch a live animal in the loft.
???? pm Bedtime. Will be determined by the Chaperones. Bring board games and snacks for evening time.
6:00 am Wake up and eat breakfast
7:15 am Morning Tour – You will venture back into the zoo to see animals you did not see last night
8:00 am Wild Night Concludes – and our gear must be taken back to the cars at this time
11:00 am The group will leave for church – Note Below
12:00 – 12:30 Arrive at the church
It is imperative that the chaperones assume the responsibility for their children’s behavior so that the Wildnight leader
is able to concentrate on providing the best program possible.
Note: We will leave the zoo no later than 11:00 am and we should
arrive at the church between 12:00 and 12:30 am on Saturday. If
your child has a commitment for Saturday morning and needs to be
back by a specific time, please let Linda Buesing know in advance.
Our tickets include a full day on Saturday. If a youth wants to
stay past 11:00 am, the parents of the youth must have pre –
arranged with Linda Buesing adult supervision and transportation
home.
